Julia MAUDER / Johannes WILKINSON (ZAF) both wearing all black. Except that Julia's dress has gold trim and she is wearing gold armbands.

I was listening to the end of a radio programme earlier, andthey went out to "Il Silenzio". And at first, I thought that Julia and Johannes were skating to that. But, it soon became obvious that it was actually music from a biblical epic film. ("The Prince Of Egypt", as it turned out)

With this in mind, their costumes don't really make sense. Apart from the fact that they look nice.

A couple of falls. But, otherwise, not bad.

Linzy FITZPATRICK / Keyton BEARINGER (USA)

From the music, I smell a pirate. But their costumes are more like what you would wear to a dinner dance.

She is in a beautiful very dark blue dress (I thought it was black until I saw it close up after they finished! ). He is wearing black trousers and a white shirt.

Linzy fell just after the familiar music that we all expect to hear when we have a "Pirates Of The Caribbean" programme kicked in.

They go into a massive lead in both the FS and overall.

Gabriella IZZO / Luc MAIERHOFER (AUT) both wearing black with sparklies.

"Phantom Of The Opera". But, I didn't hear it because my Dad was talking the whole way through it to my Mum.

That was really, really good.

And I am happy, because Gabbie has been a good friend to one of my kids. Put it like this, in about 40 minutes from now, Marilena Kitromilis will be skating in one of Gabbie's old dresses. And it looks stunning on both of them!

They go into the lead.

Nearly the same again for Greta CRAFOORD / John CRAFOORD (SWE). Both all in black, except only Greta has sparklies.

Little mistakes here and there.

Greta didn't look very happy with her brother when they finished.

Who was that with the shopping trolley that walked into shot?!

Nica DIGERNESS / Mark SADUSKY (USA)

Not too fussed on Nica's dress. It's off-white / light grey with a black pattern on the front. But I do like Mark's costume. Black trousers, and a dark grey shirt with black patten that matches the pattern on Nica's dress.

My goodness. What is this cover of "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight"?! If I was Nick Van Eede, I would be suing whoever this is that is murdering his song!

Skating wasn't bad.

Honestly, I preferred Gabbie and Luc. But, they were too far behind Nica and Mark in the SP to be able to win.

Wow, the future of pairs skating is also in the jumps. First competition as new pairs skaters and they get Worlds minimums. I'm not sure what to think about that but amazing job for Gabriella and Luc.

I love Nica and Mark! Hope they paid the toll to the horrible cover artist. Mark is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and I love their pairs spins.

Hana CVIJANOVIĆ (HRV) wearing a deep purple dress, which melds into white at the end of it.

She wasn't skating to Deep Purple, though. It was Florence + The Machine's cover of "Stand By Me".

Not bad.

I thought the stream had jumped back during the highlights, but it was just a glitch in the highlights package rather than a glitch in the stream.

She geos into 2nd in both the FS and overall.

Finally!!! I have been a fan of Orianthi Panagaris for years, and have often wondered what a skating programme to her music would be like. Now I've found out, because Sarah Marie PESCH (DEU) was skating to "Blues Won't Leave Me Alone".

I don't know whether Orianthi's heritage is Cypriot or is Greek, but I have often hoped that one of my Cypriot kids would discover her.

She was wearing a dress that was white at the top, and turned darker as you went down until it became black.

I loved that programme!!!

But, I know I'm biased.

She goes into 3rd in the FS, and 2nd overall.

My goodness, she was only 0.02 behind Hana CVIJANOVIĆ (HRV) in the FS standings.

During the Basic Novices at the Volvo Open Cup last week, I speculated that one of the girls was skating to music from "Avatar", based on her costume.

I don't actually know of that girl was. But, I wouldn't have worked out from Anna PEZZETTA (ITA)'s costume that she was.

Anna was wearing a very dark blue dress, with a gold pattern on it.

She was good. She should win easily.

She does. By 33.86 points in the FS, and by 48.34 points overall.

Anton SKOFICZ (AUT) wearing a navy blue jumpsuit, with a white line that makes it look like he's wearing braces from the front, and look like he's wearing a sailor's suit from the back.

Don't know what the music is, but it makes me think of a spy film.

He had a wonkey landing in the first half, and had a fall in the middle of the programme, but otherwise no major issues.

He didn't start getting into his finishing position until after the music had finished. But, it was only getting down on one knee, so it only took a second or two to get down.

I knew I recognised the guy sitting with him! It's Severin Kiefer!
