Shunsuke has what could be one of the programs of the season, if he can learn how to perform it. This material from Kaitlyn Weaver is really great, but he has a stone face for most of the program. It's such a shame, because his SP last season was one of my favourites and he really does have a lot of quality, so I want to see more energy like in that step sequence throughout the whole program.

Finally able to tune in and caught Yuto mid-skate, I like his costume!

And Shunsuke is bringing Backstreet Boys love his dance moves, but I'd love to see more facial expression to go with it.

Gosh, all of these programs have been enjoyable - even if the jumps aren't there, the basic skating quality and commitment to movement and performance has been really wonderful from all of the men so far.

This man's ability to hold onto a jump needs to be studied because what...

Everything about this program is so lovely and then he lands and I'm like [clutches pearls]. It really is a very funny contrast.

Poor Sena has had a rough few years after having such a strong breakout season a little while ago. He has such quality, and I'm so glad to see him manage to hang on to all of the jumps today and not pop or splat. I really love the choreography of this program, he does so well using his movements to build tension in quiet, simple music.

Poor Sena has had a rough few years after having such a strong breakout season a little while ago. He has such quality, and I'm so glad to see him manage to hang on to all of the jumps today and not pop or splat. I really love the choreography of this program, he does so well using his body to build tension in quiet, simple music.

I think he really took Dai's advice to heart that he should never pop his jumps and hold on, no matter what!

Oh, this was such a great skate! It's so nice to see Sena come in here without as much pressure on his shoulders, and deliver a nice, clean redemption skate from the Final. He has such good skating skills and flow on the landings of his jumps, and he's such a great performer and such a delight on the ice.

Takahashi almost lost that sit spin! Other than that, he did well. The program really fits him.

He will be a future star for Japan and has many years in Juniors to develop before turning senior. Wow!!
