Ooh ouch re Wolfkostin/ Tsarevski at only 149.74 total against juniors!!! As seniors, they were 172.88 at 2023 Budapest Trophy and 178.05 at 2024 U.S. Nationals. Is it a message to teams who have been established as seniors to not try this 'return to juniors to clean up in the scores' strategy.
Oh well. They made their choice so I do not think they can change now. Or maybe they can, but it would not be wise. They have to finish what they started in juniors this season. This is going to be interesting. I guess they can just look at it as a rough start and keep on truckin'. Who could have predicted shining young Hana & Daniil coming out of nowhere to shock and awe with Pap/Ciz iconic music: Mozart Adagio/ Concerto No.23!
ETA:
I have to say that this choice to return to juniors by W/T brings a bit into question coaching decisionmaking at MIDA, coupled with the loss of momentum Green/Parsons experienced when switching to MIDA, and miscues by Bratti/ Somerville at their first Worlds. So far, Morosov/ Chen look good together, but it was not a great career move for Chen when he partnered with a young, inexperienced solo ice dancer in juniors for one season, and it did not work out long-term. Maybe Chen can say he's smarter for the experience, as one positive. There are growing pains altogether, though, at MIDA.
