2024 Pacific Coast Sectional Singles Final

Daniel Martynov also had a bye due to three internationals. I don’t know what you are upset about. Getting assigned to three challengers is an honor and opportunity to get more international exposure and build a reputation with international judges.

See this post to see what other byes were given and how many challengers others were assigned.

Also USFS criteria for byes
I'm not upset. I didn't mean to come off that way. My apologies:)

Coming to the end for Senior Ladies - two skaters to go, Starr is in the lead. Sherry Zhang and Katie Shen left to skate

Starr is in, she can finish no worse than second. Katie Shen currently second.
Sherry Zhang had a large lead from the short - here she goes.

Sherry Zhang wins the free skate and the overall title.
116Sherry Zhang, Glacier Falls FSC167.431122.76190.19
214Starr Andrews, Los Angeles FSC360.452107.26167.71
315Katie Shen, Glacier Falls FSC261.80496.94158.74
413Erica Machida, Peninsula SC451.75397.14148.89
Top two finishers qualify to Nationals.

Katie Shen still has a chance to make it depending on what happens at Midwesterns since everyone not in the top 2 in the East finished below her total score.
I was just looking at scores to see who is on the bubble and it looks like Katie Shen scored better than Skylar Lautowa-Peguero at Pacifics so the winner at Mids must beat Katie to win the last place if I have that correct.

Skylar was competing in juniors, not seniors. The top 4 juniors make junior nationals.

Skylar is skating Junior, but Katie beat the 3rd placed skater in Senior Women at Eastern Sectionals, who is, funnily enough, also called Katie 😅

Senior Men is going to be a battle…glad I don’t have to make picks.

Thank goodness we have you to protect others from my follies.
I've had my own follies, not that I've broadcast them everywhere.

For instance, I completely spaced out that Pacific Coast Sectionals were in Utah rather than on the west coast even though it's clearly on the top of the page, so I was doing east coast/west coast time zone math at first rather than east coast/mountain time zone math, lol.

Two WD - Connor OGrady and Yaroslav Paniot in Senior Men

Wait, can that be Caroline Zhang in the K and C? How did she suddenly become 31 years old? Where does time go?

Senior Men

110Goku Endo, Los Angeles FSC371.541145.49217.03
212Kai Kovar, Wasatch FSC177.743132.43210.17
311Liam Kapeikis, Wenatchee FSC277.064130.51207.57
49Michael Xie, SC of San Francisco467.982133.04201.02
56Samuel Mindra, Portland ISC766.165128.83194.99

All right, so, Endo and Kovar get the two Pacific Coast bids.

Right now, Kapeikis, Xie, and Mindra are currently the highest scorers for those last three spots, but that could change after Midwesterns, but I don't know who is skating there aside from Hiwatashi, so I have no idea how those scores are going to hold up.

Tomoki Hiwatashi, Taira Shinohara, Joe Klein, Beck Strommer, Maxim Zharkov
