I want it to be real, no surprise thereOk... I am watching French CBC.
They said that Deanna and Max are not in the team event (yes, we know) but should take part in the pairs event on the 15th...
Is that for real ?

I agree. These olympics feel like the turning point. It's coming a bit too late to translate in a team medal this time but our skaters performed very well. They were underdogs and got marked a bit low in some cases but they won't be underdogs for much longer.Sidenote here- followed this thread for the season and I can just say that as a non-Canadian, I think you guys don't have to worry too much about the 2030 Olympics- unlike some other European federations. While the results haven't shown in, I'm expecting a few skaters and duos to be very competitive for World medals or even wins by like... 2029? The potential is there.
I think the placements were correct. Lia and Trennt were really unfortunate that Kam and O'Shea also had the skate of their lives.Should Maddie have finished behind Lara, should Stephen have finished behind Matteo, should Lea and Trennt have finished behind the US team? In all cases, my (partisan) opinion is no way, but I wasn't surprised. The scores were very very close and came down to PCS and not TES - where judges might have flipped the result if it wasn't the Olympics.
I would love Deanna and Max to compete, but only if she really is fit to do so. We don't want her ending up doing the same sort of thing as Lindsay Vonn has...I watched some other news : decision is coming Monday. So who knows ?
Doctors will decide for them. Lindsay was apparently cleared...I would love Deanna and Max to compete, but only if she really is fit to do so. We don't want her ending up doing the same sort of thing as Lindsay Vonn has...
I could understand saying that LaLa were dropped last year, where they had solid programs and didn't place as well as we thought. But I don't think they are being dropped this year - I think that they came up with a very poor Rhythm dance and unfortunately for them, it just didn't stand up I very much agreed with the scores and would have had the second American team ahead of them. There costuming was terrible in that it makes Zach look like he's skating in a potato sack and detracts from his line and posture, which is usually very strong. As well, the fact that their music is typically used as background music to pump up crowds, in my mind does not help, because it's harder to take it seriously and automatically makes it seem like a show program. As well, I think it was just too much of the same thing for one program. So, yes they have placed lower, but I think it is at least partially due to the fact that their Rhythm dance was so weak.Poor LaLa, they are being dropped even more. All to set up so the right teams will be in contention for world medals once the top 4 or 5 teams retire. Not surprised that the 2nd USA team is being bumped up to make sure the USA gets a medal at worlds either this year if we see retirements, or if not next year. Worse part is the 3rd USA team is closer to them then they are to the 2nd USA tea,. So I can see the 3rd team even moving ahead of LaLa in the free.
I love the second American team, far more than the Third who I have always thought were vastly overrated and I could never believe they were so close to Zack and Marjorie, including beating them at times. I just love how crisp and fast and expressive America team number two is - love them the first time I saw them last year. To me, they have the potential to easily be World beaters - it reminds me of Tessa and scott, who were so clearly on the rise when they were young.Lala had an unusual mistake on twizzles which didn't help their score... But yeah... They are dropped for now. They will rise back when all the older teams retire. What is certain though is that the USA did a good job propping up their second best team... Even if that meant sacrificing CPom
I finally was able to watch all of the RD. Yes, Zingas Kolesnik are better than CPom. I agree with that. There is just something missing for me that I cannot point out. Just like there is something I love from Lopareva Brissaud (other than Geoffrey's face ) that I cannot point out.I love the second American team, far more than the Third who I have always thought were vastly overrated and I could never believe they were so close to Zack and Marjorie, including beating them at times. My point was that it was very close and not embarrassing. TES was very good. Components can be improved with improved reputations (as well as skating etc).I think the placements were correct. Lia and Trennt were really unfortunate that Kam and O'Shea also had the skate of their lives.
