2025-26 Grand Prix assignments released

Pairs...

Sui and Han back. 😮 No Kovalevs, even for a host spot. :( I am a little bit disappointed that Anastasia Vaipan-Law and Luke Digby only have one spot - I know they were only top 24 SB, and not top 10 at Worlds, but I had thought they might get two spots because pairs who were in a similar position last season did. Edit: Just found the Kovalevs listed for NHK.
Don't worry yet. Daria and Michel only had one spot last year, but got another one added to it pretty soon. I suspect Anastasia and Luke will get that this season.

I am very sad that Skate America gave away a men's spot. Jacob really deserved it.
maybe he wants to do jgp.

anyway i have lots of children across all stages, Misha looks good for 2 golds, Daniel might get a medal in China. Sui/Han! yay! and dance is going to be entertaining...lots of drama...

I wish Kaiya Ruiter would have the host spot in Skate Canada, but with Katherine Medland Spence having NHK trophy, I guess they will give her to her for having Madeline and Katherine with 2 GP assignment. But, I find it's a shame that Madeline didn't receive her two spots outside of Skate Canada. It would have give a place to Kaiya Ruiter if Madeline would have her 2 spots outside of Canada, what a shame !

I think Kaiya may get the host spot. It is very tight for KMS to go to SCI then NHK. However, I agree.... Madeline didn't need to skate in Canada...

Very surprised (and happy) Sui and Han are back! I thought she was skating with a different partner now.
I thought that too. They didn't look great in the videos I saw, though, so I guess the Chinese fed split them up again and got Han to come back,

Hmm maybe hot take, but I think Corey was ranked high enough on the SB list to get one on his own (cause Andreas and Francois both got spots). I think it's more the Max/Camden/Luc/Daiwei trade that ate into the 3 spots.
Corey is only 34th on the SB list. It's the top 24 who get one spot. I think Finland gave a host spot to Andreas Nordeback because they didn't have enough skaters of their own and he is from Scandinavia. Neither are top 24 WS either. No idea how Francois Pitot has got a spot.

With Kaiya, her SB (73 - 165.75) is lower than both Uliana Shiryaeva (48 - 178.83) and Fee-Ann Landry (62 - 169.03). I didn't see Kaiya getting an initial spot with the assignments since her SB is the lowest of the Canadian women in the SB 75. Breken Brezden isn't in the SB 75, but she should be in the mix for it too.

I'm looking forward to the summer competitions, they should be good with a TBD spot on the line 🤞

Jia Shin having only one spot is a crime !! She deserve 2 spots !!
Jia Shin got one spot from her medal at Junior Worlds. She wasn't in the top 24 for either SB or WS. Ami Nakai, who got two spots, had the 12th highest SB in addition to her JGPF medal. Anna Pezzeta is the only other female moving up from Juniors who has a non-host spot. She has one spot from being in the top 24 in the world standings. I think Jia has been treated fairly based on the criteria.

Yes, but I want Max to get it , too. So I hate to choose between favorites. And the US always uses their spots. Why during an Olympic year are they not?
Well Max got a spot so be happy here. I honestly think that Ilia gave up the spot for Jacob. I think that was the agreement that him and USFS struck. The fewer skaters between Jacob and the medal stand the better. I think that he already beat one of the skaters last season at the one senior Challenger he did. The goal I think is not just to get a couple GP's but to see if he can get to GPF. If he can then he really good chance to going to Milian. I think it is between him and Lucas Broussard and Lucas got two GP's right off the bat so all the USFS has to do now is take care of Jacob. The only reason that they are holding back a bit is to make sure that Jacob is healthy and ready to take full advantage here. So just be patient here and I think all be well

I wonder which American women will get the TBD spots for skate America? Especially because all the top US women already received 2 spots. The USFSA seems to like Starr. And what about juniors moving up to senior? You know how in past olympic years, a newbie girl would pop up seemingly out of nowhere and make waves? Idk of anyone who'll do that this year. The women who have an outside chance of really making the olympic team (bradie and sarah) already got 2 spots, and neither is a junior.
What happened to clare seo? And the junior who wore a tutu last year, can't remember her name...
