Last season PL got 2 spots - both as alternates...Why don't they go down the SB list? It seemed they've invited not from the top, but from the bottom. The Brits, Italy2, Germany2, Poland they all deserve a second GP before the lower ranked teams in the SB list.

I don't if this is was the "deal" that happened, but I noticed that Maxim Naumov and Camden Pulkinen got assigned to GPdF and CoC, respectively, while Daiwei Dai and Luc Economides got assigned to Skate America. Maxim and Camden are low-ish on the SB list and some skaters were skipped (ex. Lev Vinokur is above Camden, at least 10 skaters between Camden and Maxim). Maybe USFS was going for a spread the wealth strategy, and it transpired like so.lol.. i just cannot help myself...

I never thought I'd see the day when US Fed would give away hosts spots.... that's something Canada does... or very small feds.. but USA? WOW.... What kind of deal happened behind the scenes here ? I wonder.
I honestly think that Ilia gave his spot for Jacob. I really think that the only reason that it is TBA is that the USFS wants to make sure that Jacob is really ready. Another reason Ilia decided to skip is that it increases the he chances that Jacob can medal. If Ilia goes than he gets a gold most likely so it makes much harder for Jacob to medal so him sitting out helps him. I have seen the fields China and Skate America are kinda weak outside of Shadorov. I think if Jacob can deliver the quads that he been working on he got real good shot of making the GPF. Two medals should be enough to do that. I think we are finally going to see what these kids can truly do and this GP season is going to be interesting to say the leastlol.. i just cannot help myself...

Yeah I noticed that. It would be challenging with the travel and the back-to-back.Not ideal timing with the other assignment but there is a SKAM host spot up for grabs.
Love this! I'm also really impressed by the men's line-up at Helsinki - Jason, Roman, Lucas, Deniss, Yuma, Jimmy, Andreas, Mikhael, and possibly Dr Finland - I think I might give up on going to Worlds and go to Finland instead....Would you look at that first event for the men. What a group!

I wondered if Ilia would do Skate America or if he would stick to doing the first two events (regardless of where). It may be that he has the pacing of his season figured out if he does the first two, and that took priority over doing the home event.I honestly think that Ilia gave his spot for Jacob. i wouldn't harp on fb/c and shibs just yet over F/G. F/G have been on and up-and-up and are world bronze medalists.Ice dance
Don't think being in the top 3 seeds, but the team with last pick, has worked out very well for Fear/Gibson. They are likely to be 3rd place in both their GP events, which wouldn't be enough for the GPF. Fournier-Beaudry/Cizeron and Guignard/Fabbri likely to place above them at GPdF and Guignard/Fabbri and Shibutanis at NHK. I know that FB/C and S/S are returning skaters, but they wouldn't be coming back if they weren't likely to be at the very top.
skAm has three spots for their us skaters... But only two will go to us skaters... Nothing to do with ilia or Jacob... The point made is that one spot is going to someone like Corey circelli for instanceI honestly think that Ilia gave his spot for Jacob. Hmm maybe hot take, but I think Corey was ranked high enough on the SB list to get one on his own (cause Andreas and Francois both got spots). I think it's more the Max/Camden/Luc/Daiwei trade that ate into the 3 spots.skAm has three spots for their us skaters... But only two will go to us skaters... Nothing to do with ilia or Jacob... Doesn't change my point. Someone not from the USA got at skAm host spotHmm maybe hot take, but I think Corey was ranked high enough on the SB list to get one on his own (cause Andreas and Francois both got spots). I think it's more the Max/Camden/Luc/Daiwei trade that ate into the 3 spots.
I hope he is healthy as well since that was a big reason for his retirement.Ok I lied... one more comment
Sui-Han.... she wanted to continue but he was clearly done.... how much pressure did his Fed put on him ? I hope there is some of his own will in this decision to come back.
