They had a truly original voice /style and always stood out in a very creative way. I will miss them!

Julia Quattrocchi and Etienne Lacasse (Pairs, Canada) split. They're searching for new partners. Maybe they should have held off on announcing the NextGen team until July.

there was ONE post about the French dancers and I thought... finally... not Canada again... and BANG ... our top junior team (assuming the other two are moving up) is now gone. But not only that... who will even compete on the JGP circuit at this point.. and at worlds ? Canada maxed out on the spots and they cannot be reallocated. Junior pairs this year may be relatively less interesting. Good for Chinese pairs though who will be able to shine after a promising start of the year, but a disastrous showing at worlds.Canada again?
If for a few it's because one wants to concentrate more on higher education or a new life off the ice, I'll accept that. Or for the younger ones, if they've grown to a mismatch in height. But if it's just restlessness, or not getting along, then I have no patience with them. Most of them use the cliche "excited" about the future. How excited will they be to find themselves at the bottom of the heap because they're unknowns again with new partners, and they lose funding, or number of entries for their country?there was ONE post about the French dancers and I thought... finally... not Canada again... and BANG ... our top junior team (assuming the other two are moving up) is now gone. Congrats on your partnership longevity.Albeit with some enforced separations by geographical distances, my pairs partner and I have been together almost 50 years, longer than a lot of marriages. We've been friends even longer, since we were 7 years old. Many ballet and ballroom dance partnerships have managed the same. If I can put up with his chronic tardiness and he can put up with my incessant talktalktalk for that long, some of these uncoupled couples could have worked things out with a bit of counselling.
'Next chapter of career,' does not necessarily mean he's leaving competitive skating altogether. He also said, 'Stay tuned...' In my opinion, if he was leaving the sport altogether, he would not really need to say, 'Stay tuned...'I saw someone leave a comment Loucas Ethier instagram saying something about rumors of him and Deanna matching up. They have to be talking out of their ass right? There is no way. I read his instagram post as leaving competitive skating by saying next chapter of career.
Oh good, I'm glad to see he found a new partner, and one who's a good match in height for him. I hope they do well. Before the books are closed on this season, I'm pretty sure that Mia Lee Mayer and Atl Ongay Perez (ice dance, Germany) teamed up this season. I checked this thread for last season and they were not listed then.
Here is proof of their partnership for anyone interested:

That's the one I missed: I saw Ashlie having found someone new but had heard about Atl finding someone as well. I couldn't find anything about it. Thanks @Silevril Ilumire!
I think there was talk about this in the German figure skating thread since Atl is now skating for Germany...
