2025-26 U.S. Pairs Figure Skating

Well I hope US Fed are and that Danny agrees.
πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
Jimmy! US Pairs needs you! There has to be some shortie who wants a partnerπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Reportedly, they begged Alexa & Brandon to come back and tide U.S. pairs over for 2022 - 2023 season with unconfirmed monetary incentive. I think Danny has achieved his highest dream. But, if he still feels fit and rarin' to continue, maybe he'll give one more season with Ellie a shot!

He was born in Russia, but his family spent several years in the US when he was a kid, and then they went back to Russia.
Yeah, I heard that Danill's dad was in the U.S. on an employment visa with U.S. citizenship being processed and it came through, despite the family eventually returning to Russia. With his father being a U.S. citizen, I have wondered whether that could possibly shorten Danill's citizenship processing time. πŸ€”

Oh no!!!! They were doing so well. 😒😒😒

I don’t understand this either. I know everyone can’t be Tai and Randy and stay together for 50 years…but Katie and Danill were right on the cusp of being in the top 3 in the US. Why?!?!
I’ve messaged her and asked if she will be searching for a new partner. I’ll let yall know if she answers.
McB/ Park were not just on the cusp. They actually were in the top three, with a U.S. silver in 2025, and a U.S. bronze in 2026. What hampered them has been international ineligibility, thus they could not go to '25 Worlds. They were eligible to be sent to '26 Worlds and they performed decently, but were truly capable of more.

Maybe McB/ Park are one of the 'established teams' recently rumored by a podcaster to have been doing tryouts.

I guess, we all have to keep in mind that the tone of our written message might not be that clear to others (unless smilies give a helping hand )
Re: Oxana & Tom - they are very promising team but at this stage of their development I see two single skaters skating along side each other. I am sure they will improve in time. What I am not so sure is Oxana's posture, I mean it is very difficult to change. And that is something that turns me off big time, maybe that is why I am a bit harsh on them. But we should not be discussing them in US pairs thread.
For sure, tone and intent on sm is often misconstrued, regardless of, and in some cases, in part due to smilies. πŸ˜‰

I spoke about VouBou or MozVart in direct response to you bringing them up in a humorous putdown kinda way. Again, I disagree with your take on this duo. πŸ™‚ Oxana's posture, among other things, can for sure be worked on for their overall improvement. A lot of teams, including the much praised Nagaoka/ Moriguchi look like two singles skaters trying to meld. Oxana & Tom 'tho, most def stand out as an exciting up-and-coming team in the pairs field, with equal tech talent, amazing speed, power, pop, and a lot of joy and connection in their skating. However, to each their own regarding which skaters/ teams are extremely appealing or unfortunate turn-offs for whatever reasons.

Any further discussions on the topic of international teams, I will take to apropos fanfests, country threads, or to the old general pairs thread...

Wellllll Katie didn’t exactly answer my dm. I said β€œKatie!!!! Oh, no! Are you looking for another partner or are you done? I love your skating and your smile.” She just dropped a heart. No clue what to make of that.

Sources please?
Another poster brought up the info about Daniil's family in a previous discussion here. I'd have to research in which thread. Also, the fact that Daniil's family came to Seattle when he was a baby is not in question. He has mentioned having lived in the U.S. when he was a toddler. I would have to research his interviews, for more specifics. What exactly is it you are concerned about having sources for? The fact that his parents moved to the U.S. briefly, or that his father was here on a work visa? As fans are interested in Daniil's citizenship progress, this topic has been discussed on another fan forum, too. Perhaps @ramurphy2005 is aware of original sources, having posted about this earlier.

The reference to U.S. fed begging Alexa & Brandon to continue for another season is unconfirmed. It was first reported by the gossiper Dave Lease on TSL. Lease is also responsible for suggesting that a monetary incentive was offered. I do not think that is something unheard of or impossible. U.S. pairs definitely needed Alexa & Brandon to return that season due the retirements and splits of other top teams, including Lu/ Mitrofanov; Cain/ Leduc; and especially Calalang/ Johnson.

She probably appreciates you reaching out, but doesn't want to share her plans at the moment. ❀️
Ok I will wait semi patiently. I love her smile and have been SO happy for her since she’s gotten opportunities she wasn’t getting as a singles skater. International assignments, Worlds…
I’m just stunned.

You said, "Yeah, I heard that Danill's dad was in the U.S. on an employment visa with U.S. citizenship being processed and it came through,..."

This needs to be sourced otherwise it is speculation.

If there is no substantial source, then it's a rumor and should not be posted per guidelines. Or at least reference "where you heard/read it."

Yes, I remember her with her silver at US Nats, smiling like she’d just won the Olympics. And I was at 2026 when she won 3rd. I don’t think that team was getting respect from US Fed like say, Shin/Nagy. No evidence, just my opinion.

I would never have expected Daniil Parkman to pair with Starr Andrews. But then, we didn't know Daniil was even an option. I am stunned. But, surely the tryout felt right for both.

Is Starr still planning to premiere her partner search documentary? πŸ€”

What role has U.S. fed played, if any, in all of these tryouts, splits, and musical chairs switches?

If there is a person/persons inside US Fed who are in charge of liaising with / managing pairs, they are in all probability under medical supervision by now. I know I would be!
I wish someone of a methodical mind would produce a chart of a sort:
Pairs definitely split
Believed to be split
And so on
Remind me please apart from Alisa/Misha , it’s Emily/Spencer who are presumed still to be together , right?

This is part of Tarah Kane's job as the Pairs Development Coordinator, High Performance.

She's also organizing the 2026 McMillan Pairs Camp (June 5–6, Highlands Ranch, CO), mostly for pair teams, but those looking for partners are welcome and should reach out to her for assistance in finding a partner for the camp, and hopefully that partner will be their permanent partner (however long/short it may be). I know some coaches with students willing to try out in pairs (or those who lost their partners) have reached out to Tarah for suggestions on who they could try out with.

I doubt even a chart will be adequate to keep track, as it would likely become out-of-date as soon as it's created. πŸ€ͺπŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

And no, not even Emily and Spencer might be safe. Someone said on another forum that TSL tweeted Spencer was seen skating with Audrey.

Obviously, nothing has been confirmed. I also thought that Ellie & Danny, along now with Emily & Spencer, are wrapping up the U.S. SOI tour. πŸ€”

Emily and Spencer were supposed to do SOI, but they dropped out for reasons unknown aside from fan speculation.

Right. Apparently, they dropped out of early SOI dates, due to Spencer having a commitment to visit the Pentagon and to attend a Washington Nationals game with fellow Olympian military athletes. Spencer posted about these events on IG.

Various sources, including Jackie Wong at Rocker Skating podcast, have indicated that Emily & Spencer were expected to join the tour for the later schedule.

They don't have profiles on SOI's website and if they had firm dates for them to be performing, they would be listed, especially since they just added Jacob Sanchez to a couple of the west coast shows and announced Liam Kapeikis as a guest skater in one of the Washington state shows.

The shows go until the end of the month, so there's still time for things to change, but as of this moment, they're not doing any of the remaining shows.

Like everything else that's going on, it's all up-in-the-air!
