Pairs qualifications will be so tough. The Chinese and Japanese pair have both scored 190+ this season, but have been inconsistent in the past, and then there are like 5 or so pairs scoring in the high 160s to low 170s, and only 3 spots.

Rebecca and Filippo are so expressive and this program is a good vehicle for them. SBS jumps will never be their strong point, but, Hey, they make the most of what they have.

This costume is gorgeous. Not everything worked perfectly today (and some things might never, like the sbs 3S), but still a very good performance of a program that would be worthy of an Olympic appearance.

I have such a soft spot for Rebecca/Filippo. I've loved this team for years. This program works very well for them. Who cares about jumps and throw landings, their performance always gives.

yup, but it's FS, 170 may be enough or may be far too low...

Love Rebecca & Filippo's costume, the gems detail when up close is really nice.

And how awesome was that final pose!! Really like how she rolled down from his grip and dropped to a strong pose

Nobody knows what's going on with them. If they had split, I would have expected them to withdraw from both GPs at the same time, but the alternative is there being a very significant injury to withdraw so far in advance. I guess we'll see, maybe they even manage to pull a new team out of their hat in time for the Olympics,

Lara Fabian is so not my taste, but Sara and Niccolò sure look very sharp with strong elements.

Sara/Niccolo are a class of their own. One messy lift but everything else done so nicely. Another Italian team I adore. Great job on their first competition of Olympic season!

Up until the final lift, that was absolutely stunning. They too are going Italian, just in the Free I'm calling it now, the pairs podium at the Olympics will be the closest one of all four disciplines. Everyone is showing up so prepared,

Niccolo had to abort the last lift early and looked totally spent at the end, I hope he's okay...

SaraNicco looked sharp otherwise, but I'm not sure about this program for Oly season. Seems very generic for them and lacking their signature "magic" to me~ maybe it'll grow on me after time

Me too!

Rebecca and Filippo's free skate was the only one that I adored; and I had fun with them every step of the way.

I also really like Martin Bidar with his new partner, Anna Valesi. I really noticed his beautiful expression. There's always something new to love and appreciate!
