2025 Grand Prix: General Info and Substitutions

I've always wondered about that. You typically need a specific reason to get a VISA so its not like you can just have one open for no reason? I know sometimes skaters still have them for other competitions they've attended so can just go.

Otherwise it would seem unfair to skip over someone on the replacement list or omit them if the reason they couldn't attend was a VISA. I know the rules used to be more flexible since you could pick anyone in the top 10, but now its the next in line.

That may not apply in this case, its possible Gogo gets assigned to Finland, more of just a general thought.

Also, it should be Sofia S and Anna P to replace Kimmy.
I got a visa for China in 2017. I needed an itinerary with the hotels I was staying at and my flight itinerary. When I was in the visa office, someone was booking their flights there since they hadn't done it and couldn't apply until they had the flights. They did give me a 7 year visa since I had everything in order.

Gamez/Korovin were in that situation last season where they weren't able to get a visa for Japan in time for NHK Trophy. But they were able to pick up a spot at Cup of China after declining.

Sofia and Anna are both at NHK already. So one of them for Cup of China, and Livia K, whose other assignment is GP France, for NHK?

That's a bit unlucky for Anna :( but, yes, it would go to the next person on the list which is Livia Kaiser.

Very happy for Alicia and Paul. It will thicken the plot about the qualifying third spot for the Canadian ice dance team at the Olympics.

I'd love them to have the chance to bury that uncharacteristic short programme disaster!
I have realised since that the Armenia pair were above Ana and Luke. I had muddled the Armenia pair with the Uzbek pair that split.
