Sakamoto almost lost the end pose. The song is one of my favorites and I don’t think she skated well to it. I think she’ll sell it by the end of the season, though. Opening choreography doesn’t make sense. That 2A was gorgeous though. Nakai should win the SP.

I loved that skate from Kaori: her usual speed, power, the enormous distance she gets on her jumps. And then she glided backwards on one foot, leaning backwards, turned around, and, boom, 2A out of nowhere. The arms up bang on the music after the change combo spin were fantastic, and for me, she had best forward lunge of the night with the way she leaned back to grab her boot. Into second after the short!
