2025 JGP Ankara Men's Free Skate

Remember, in Spanish names, you have Dad's surname followed by Mum's surname

...and in Portuguese names, it is the other way around. Mum followed by Dad.

I really enjoyed that programme from Lucaz Filipe TRINDADE CANDRIA (BRA).

Apart from the white gloves. They did not go with the rest of his costume. They stood out too much. Especially since the cuffs on his sleeves were black.

Needs some polishing, but you can see he is a rough gem.

Is his nose bleeding? He keeps touching it, and checking his glove afterwards. (Maybe that is why he is wearing white gloves).

He goes into 2nd in both the FS and overall.

Igor. Good program and outfit. He is working on his triples. He has so much potential.

Ivett Toth is one of his coaches, I want to see her in the kiss n cry. Hopefully he will get another assignment.

The James Bond music is epic enough without getting a monastic choir to "awww" their way through it.

And then it turning into a techno remix of Madonna's "Die Another Day"?!

No. Just no. 🙉

I liked Igor Gyula KIND (HUN)'s costume.

But, it was a real struggle for him to get through that programme.

He goes into 5th in the FS, and 4th overall.

I'm sure things will go better for him as the season goes on.

Interesting what Ted is saying about judges noticing how where they are seated can effect their judging.

Yes, Ted. That is something I noticed when going through the Protocols of my kids for their Fan Fests. That where the Judges are sitting can influence the marks they give. For example, as you go across the line, the marks improving dramatically. Or decreasing dramatically. And it all being because of the different angles they are viewing the element from.

I'm not a fan of AI, but this is one way it could improve things.

Or, even better, just give the Judges access to replays. ;)

there's a lot going on with that shirt...

I like it. I wouldn't wear it myself, mind you.

It fits the music well. I like that too.

Not sure about the maniacal laughing, though.

Ege ALACAN (TUR) is from Istanbul, so is not strictly a local. But, the audience loved it!

I don't blame them. It was a good concept.

Another skater that you could see tiring as the programme went on. And the mistakes started coming in.

And it started buffering just as the scores were about to be announced.

According to the livescoring, he has gone into the lead of both the FS and overall.

Right, I think the buffering was at my end.

I've refreshed the window, and it is playing. So, I have wound it back to Ege getting his scores.

Well, I'll be leaving shortly anyway. So, it doesn't matter if I am a bit behind you.
