Ouch, that was a nasty fall

Kalyn's outfit is great. That hard fall on the 2 axel I was worried would take her out of the performance but she still finished the program nicely. Good job!

Minsong has an absolutely beautiful dress. After popping the toe that was amazing she was able to add it to the flip. This program is really good for her. She ended so strongly. Good job!

One pop but she managed to put the -3T on her flip and she landed everything else, I'm willing to take it. Isn't she, her program, and her dress great

Minsong. Gorgeous dress. One popped jump but she rallied and finish strong. Good program and a great program.

A much better skate from Minsong! Recovers well from the opening pop, puts it behind her and doesn't have another wobble with the jumps. Loved the 2A‑2A‑tano 2T. I like the head roll in the choreography after the flying camel spin, and her high speed choreo sequence as she rockets around the rink. Super sparkly costume!

Deniz. Pretty dress. Nice program. A few mistakes, but she never gave up.

Wow, what a costume. I thought she would skate to Princess Mononoke but no.

Not a great skate for Latifakhon, but what a creative and promising skater. You can only imagine how good she can be with more training time - Hoping to see her later in the season.

Latifakhon. Great costume and good program. A few mistakes, but she still skated well.

Latifakhon's costume is really good. Pity she made so many mistakes. But definitely she should be interesting to follow in the future.

Latifakhon with a very cool costume, would have liked a better look at it. She's not obviously perturbed by her fall on the 3Lo, skating straight at the judges, though that is a long approach for the 3T, and the next few jumping passes seem cautious and her performance loses its initial intensity. Gets back on track with the 2A. Different sort of slide in the choreo sequence, down on her elbow ‑ thanks Ted and Mark for the background info on who else has done it.

Unfortunately Safiya Abayeva had a disappointment skate today

Safiya. Beautiful dress. A nice progam. Rough skate but she perservered.

Safiya showed grit and resilience to keep going the way she did, despite those falls and jumps problems. She was still trying for triples at the end, which takes a lot of determination. Her spins at the end were good, and she doesn't look devastated afterwards, but is able to discuss it. Also, props to her for using the instrumental tango, much preferable to the version with lyrics.

Yu Feng was the breakout skater of the jgp for me a couple years ago. She is a beautiful skater and I'm so happy she did well today.
