Natasa's jumps were very solid in the first half, before fatigue set in; she looks breathless at the end. She hits her spin levels as well. I liked the slide in her choreo sequence, with the upper arm reaching back in the direction she was travelling from.

Nicely done by Arina, despite the mistakes. A pity she is so visibly focused on the tech, a better link to the music would be great.

And this is the reason I didn't dare put Arisha in my predictions. She's a gorgeous, talented skater, but also a nervy one.
If she ever skates this clean (and I hope that she does), it will score big (because her jumps are great when landed), but not today.

The biggest mistake for me was finishing so far ahead of her music. She has no musicality.

She was amazing in the Chinese domestic events. Shame she fell in the SP. I’m hoping for a good free skate !! I loved this upcoming free skate when I saw it a month ago. She has excellent PCS skills.

A brave skate by Arina. I like the relevé in attitude at the very start. Huge 2A, but pops the 4S ‑ high risk, I suppose, is the price of high reward. I think that was a bidirectional ch combo spin, with twizzles and toe steps afterwards. Her choreo sequence is packed with detail as well, rather than being a series of spirals. Even without the quad, it looks an intense programme to skate.

Quite a big music for a little person but for the most part she handled it well. Lots of energy, quite the wildfire. If only it were not for the jumps ...

Oh my poor girl Shiqi, such a tough skate Chinese juniors were competing domestically all summer dozens of times and I wonder if it's not too much. She looked great at Chinese league but she looks tired now.

Shiqi is so fast and skates very positively, committing to the performance to the very end, despite the falls. Seems as if she uses rippon arms for all her jumps except the axel. I liked the spread eagle out of the solo 2A, and appreciated the emphatic Ina Bauer arms on the music, ditto the split jump. She's a fast, flexible spinner as well.

Lesson learnt for me - Don't put Shiqi into your predictions (if you want her to do well).
Like I said yesterday, she does not thrive in international competitions, the pressure just gets to her. Also, the Chinese domestic calendar starts very early and some of these girls compete a lot, it can't be easy to keep up your form for all of that.

She's much better than what she's been able to show here. I hope she does better at her second JGP.
