Yep. The elephant is a national symbol of Thailand

Did you ever hear the story about the Thai flag? It used to be red with a white elephant on it. But somebody flew it upside down, and seeing an elephant upside down distressed the king. So, it was changed to red and white stripes, which was the same whatever way it was flown. And then one of the red stripes was changed to blue later on.
