2025 JGP Bangkok Men's Free Skate

Rio's and Yuma's 4S are the only two that matter to me (actually, lie, Sota's and a few other Japanese men's ones are also amazing when they hit it).

One random fall, but the rest was great :)

Well, there’s your champion! Nakata has all greens, but he had a random fall in the beginning of the program. His quads are gooood. He seemed to lose a bit of steam in the second half, but I think he’s improved on this quite a bit from last season. His stamina.

If JSF dares to take Daiya's 2nd JGP away when he finished in 4th :angry3:
He deserves a chance to redeem himself for that FS
And though I appreciate Iwamoto-sensei stepping in, Daiya also deserves to have his coach by his side at such an important competition

I'm so depressed rn...

I think 4th definitely still in JSF's accepted range for 2nd JGP - Ryoto was 4th in Riga and he still get to keep Baku. Haruna was 4th as well and she's also going to Baku.

I want to see Daiya redeem himself too!! I especially want him to redeem that final spin 😅 😅

Those Thai ladies bringing the gifts looks so gorgeous wearing their traditional clothes 😍 I hope we get to see a Thai skater skating to Thai traditional music & dance in the near future!

Rio going in to hug his prize:

(Have to say, I was disappointed with the selection of pictures that came up in my search for a red dragon and blue elephant. This was the best of a bad bunch. All the dragons looked angry, and I'm sure Rio is happy).

I looked at the results and had no heart to watch Sheiko. So, I just went with the last group.

Of which Kaewtathip made the strongest impression. He trains in L.A. according to the ISU page, and I hope he will continue to progress.

Blackwell was really convincing and fingers crossed he makes JGPF somehow along with Long (but i think they might block one another). I am wondering if Malinin's raspberry twist is now becoming American skaters' sig. Which would be cool!

i am happy about the podium in this event, 3 interesting skaters and all from different nations. Wish there were fewer mistakes, but agree with Ted's commentary that these three will likely be around for a while.

I love the stuffed animals as gifts. Can we normalize that and rid the tradition of flowers as gifts at medal ceremonies?
Flowers are nice, and boys can give their to girls if they so wish (as one specific fun skater was once very excited about) 😀

I agree that they're pretty. But my thing is that they die in a few days while stuffed animals you can keep forever.
They showcase and involve local community into the celebration. Local florists if not growers. Stuffies, who knows where they are produced. I am always curious on the flower arrangements each country presents.

I enjoy Anthony's skating a lot, just such a shame that his jumps just don't cooperate with him on most days. Is there any tech specialist we can send him to? Malinina/Skornyakov, maybe?

Though the spins were a little bit of a fight for him today, too, so he may just not be on his game today in particular.
If the spins were a fight, where he does excel, I wouldn't expect him to land anything.. He probably just had a terrible day at the office. He skated better at Cranberry cup... much better.

Anthony's costume:

He did a vlog on program preparation, including the costume. He is caught in a thunderstorm. The couturier (located in Québec, so Anthony could oversee) did the crystals more than once to represent raindrops to his satisfaction. His hair is greased to represent being caught in the rain.

I love it, but what do I know, I'm fine with Adam SHF's costume too.
