2025 Junior Worlds: Info and pre-game chat

I was planning on watching Jr. Worlds on Peacock....until all the tiles disappeared!
I just checked the ISU skating channel on youtube and the events are listed and I can click on the Jr. Men's SP to watch for the competition to begin. I am not using a VPN so anyone in the U. S. can watch without a VPN on the ISU skating website.

I have had it with NBC/Peacock and its damn lawsuit dating back to the 2022OLYG making a mockery of the sport I have passion for. They deleted all the tiles in "my stuff" and the entire event.

What I hate about them is they are inconsiderate and arrogant. Thinking only of themselves. OK, so some ignoramous at Peacock put up bogus tiles....but they should have put up a statement today that they were sorry but they would not be broadcasting the ISU Jr. Worlds and did not have the broadcast rights to them and you can watch them for free on the ISU channel. Instead, they hide their mistakes cause they dont want to ...what? Look bad? Get sued? Of course, If they indeed DO have the broadcast rights and chose not to broadcast them, they have every legal right to geo block youtube.
This is exactly like the Delta airliner that took off from Atlanta and the cabin filled with smoke. As a Pax, I would want the Capt. to say, "sorry about the smoke folks but we know what it is and the smoke is NOT TOXIC and I wont be popping the O2 masks and we will be on the ground in 15 min. I have had to shut down one of the two pressurization systems but the other one will keep your lungs safe. " But he/ she can't say that cause of legalities and the fact that it takes money to "reset" the emergency mask system. And aircraft down time. They dont care a wit about you. Or your lungs. If anyone knows of a smoke that CANT hurt your lungs, let me know. Was it smoke or water vapor?

Dont wanna get anyone's hopes up but I made my playlist for Jr Worlds on the ISU youtube channel and they have a promo vid up with Ted's voice.

I watched part of the men's FS and I just wanna say how disappointed I am at the negative and puerile comments in the live chat on Youtube. And this after ISU had the "hearts" campaign to encourage positive feedback. I had to block several users in order to enjoy the chat.

I don't believe in the chat being disabled because it's a source of connection for those of us who will probably never see a live Worlds competition. I also believe there can be helpful and constructive critique on these chats. But I really hope that as a skating fan community we can do better and block out useless and immature negativity especially for junior skaters.

Wow. You have courage. I have read some of that chat and its like a snake pit of poisonous snakes with political issues. What I do is sit on the couch and watch the big screen and have my cell fone to make an odd comment or two on GS...like..."Wasnt that a Cracker? There's nothing in it."

The FS hasn't even happened yet. As for the so-called puerile comments, why even bring anything up without any example of what you are specifically referring to? Further, why are people even allowing the live chat to run alongside the stream? I never do. Turn it off.

I have an extra ticket for the Women and Pairs Free Skate on March 1, if anyone is in Debrece and wants to have the ticket please DM me. The tickets are very cheap, I just don't want to get it wasted...:)
What a nice person. Just curious as to the actual price of the ticket and if it is low, does that mean the area isnt that interested in figure skating? The turn out at a number of Jr GP events is usually less than stellar...which is sad cause I would love to see one. The city doesnt seem like a bad drive from alot of other cities....this looks like a pretty inexpensive event to attend???

The price of my ticket is 6.5 dollars (= 2500 Forint) which is really cheap, it is basically the price of a coffee and a sandwich :D The tickets are almost sold out on Saturday, but it isn't a big arena and while Debrecen is the second biggest city in the country (200k) but in size it is not comparable to the capital, Budapest (1.7 million), so the interest in skating is also less...
It'll be a really inexpensive event to attend to me, I'll pay no more than 40 $ for the competition, train from Budapest to Debrecen and back, and food for a day. ;)

I always just close the chats after a while. Always because I don't like the negativism (I have never seen positive ones, and I always see the chat at the beginning. If it wouldn't start derailing, I would leave it on). Although I agree in principle with you, until now I have never seen these 'fans' rise up, so disabling would not be a problem. I don't want to be connected with such trolls, although I support the idea of it.

Is there a country from which I can watch the men's short? I got part of the way through and then it got taken down.

UK, if your VPN has it. If not, perhaps try Sweden or The Netherlands.

Edit: it depends on why it disappeared for you, though. If it was taken down for a copyright strike, then an VPN won't make any difference because it won't be available to us either.

Thank you. I was looking over the audience and its a much younger crowd than say in the US. If I lived in Budapest you couldnt keep me away from this comp for that price.

The competition threads on GS are like live chats but with much more cheering, fun times, info, and you can easily read it while watching programs/scoring. It's not perfect, sometimes some of us (aka I sometimes do that) get into heated debates about judging or costumes :) but in general, it's a welcoming place, especially live, during the event. I would recommend it way more than the chat feature on youtube. I cannot last 20 seconds reading that chat before something upsets me.

Those are kids from school who got free tickets - on workdays the arena would be a lot emptier if those kids weren't there. I couldn't travel there on workdays beause of my job, but tomorrow it'll be a nice day to enjoy the women and pairs :)
