2025 NRW Trophy | Nov 13-16

Resurfacing now, and then in 10 minutes we begin the second marathon of the day. The Junior Ladies SP.

Here Come The Girls!!!

All 35 of them. :drama:

Unlike the Advanced Novices earlier where there was one withdrawal, there are no withdrawals marked for the Juniors.

The second stream of the day is now on air:

https://sporteurope.tv/deutsche-eislauf-union/nrw-trophy-2025-tag-1-teil-2

Although the first stream is still going, I expect it to end soon. So, maybe wise to switch over now so that you don't miss anything.

Unfortunately, you can't pause or re-wind Sport Deutschland streams. So, I will be missing all of Group 3, and possible the start of Group 4 as I will be eating.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

Valentina ANDRIANOVA (DEU) started off proceedings skating to "He Had It Coming" from "Chicago".

She is wearing an absolutely gorgeous black sweetheart dress, with light blue pattern in the bust area, and the under lining of the skirt part.

I really enjoyed that.

Hope this is a sign of things to come.

I wrote this two years ago during the 2023 edition of the NRW Trophy:

I take it Ornella MESSANA (ITA) is one of the younger skaters in this level. She's tiny!

She's not tiny any more! She's tall now!

She is wearing a red dress, and skating to a really beautiful song.

She looked upset after she came off the ice, and anxious when she was waiting for her scoress.

She goes into 6th. And doesn't look terribly thrilled about it.

And it was the same today. You should have seen the face she pulled when her scores were announced.

She goes into 2nd position.

Shylina RENAUD (FRA) was wearing a royal blue matching bra and skirt.

She was skating to music from the "Slumdog Millionnaire" soundtrack. And I loved it!!!

She was really going for it. Maybe a bit too much, because I reckon that is the reason she had a hard fall in the second half. But, she got up straight away.

She goes into 3rd position.

"Yo Soy María" for Hoshiyo RAASCH (DEU). And she is wearing a burgundy dress.

Not a bad skate at all.

That was so funny. She and her coach were talking, and we were looking at them through a camera at the side of the results area. Then Hoshiyo turned her head around to the camera, and the look she gave! If looks could kill! :drama:

Perhaps wisely, we immediately switched to the other camera in front of them.

She goes into 3rd position.

Jekaterina BRINSTER (DEU) was skating to "L-O-V-E" by Nat King Cole. Not a cover, the real one!

She was wearing a red shoulderless dress, with silver gloves that went up to her oxters.

I L-O-V-E-D it!!! (Sorry, I couldn't resist!)

She goes into 2nd position.

Anna ORLOVA (DEU) was skating to Sia's cover of "California Dreaming".

She is wearing a purple dress.

Eh? I never knew that she was born in Cardiff! Another Little Welsh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Dragon, like Rio Nakata!

She was good!

She goes into 4th position.

Regina Alejandra TORRES MEDRANO (MEX) was skating to "Falling" by Alicia Keys. And she was wearing a pea green dress with gold pattern.

Not a song you see being skated to that often, mores the pity.

I really enjoyed that programme.

Jorik HENDRICKX (BEL) sitting with her. (Saw him earlier too, but can't remember who with).

She goes into 7th position.

Amanda GHEZZO (ITA) was doing a "Dune" programme.

Interesting dress. It was made from patches of material that were various shades of brown and cream.

She was good.

Awwww. She got thrown a couple of cuddly toys. And she did a hand heart thingy after she gathered them up.

As I expected, she goes into the lead.

Well done Lucca DIJKHUIZEN (NED). You caught me out. When the music started, I thought "ah, it's the music that my youngest kid was supposed to be skating to this season, but changed". But, it wasn't. It was actually another song from the same group.

Lucca was skating to an English version of "Você Chegou" by Barbatuques.

She was wearing a dress where the top half was pale blue, and the botton half was a darker blue.

That was a lot of fun!

She goes into 2nd position.

Clara-Sophie LAMPE (DEU) was wearing a peach dress.

She was skating to what should have been a beautiful instrumental piece, but which actually had somebody wailing over it.

Wailing aside, that was a beautiful.

She looks so nervous waiting for her scores.

She goes into 10th and last position.

I remember Valeria HUBER (DEU) from earlier in the season. How could you not, with that costume?! A black and fluorescent green dress.

I just went to check where it was I saw her do this programme, and I saw something interesting. In Nice, I commented that I didn't like the music. But at Nationals last year, I commented that I loved it!

Oh, I forgot to say, she was skating to a German version of "Bad Guy".

The way I am currently feeling is that I like the way it has been rocked up, but I don't like the vocals. So, that might be why I am confused about it.

She goes into 7th position.

Resurfacing over.

I forgot to go into the kitchen to put the laptop on, so it is not ready yet. So, I may as well watch on while waiting for it to start up.

Arrived back just as the first skater in Group 4 was being introduced. So, I've just missed the Group 3 programmes, and the Group 4 Warm-Up.

There hasn't been much change towards the top while I was away.

Vivian WASSERLOOS (DEU) is wearing a blue dress which I originally thought was purple.

She was skating to two beautiful instrumental pieces by Max Richter.

A lovely programme to come back to.

She goes into 11th position.

CaroLiza_fan

What on Earth did I just listen to?! Luisa SEIFERT (DEU) was skating to what sounded like people hitting pots and pans, and drain pipes, and that sort of thing!

And yet, in a strange way, it kinda worked.

She was wearing a bkue dress.

She is happy waiting for her scores.

She goes into 10th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Kahlan GOOIJER (NED) was wearing a beautiful sky blue dress.

As for the music, it was beautiful in the first half when it was an istrumental. But it got spoilt when the vocals came in in the middle.

But, the skating was beautiful.

She goes into 16th position.

CaroLiza_fan

You know the way that sometimes you know that you are going to absolutely love a programme as soon as the skater comes out. Well, that just happened with Adelina VOROTELIAK (DEU).

She was wearing a beautiful green dress. But I could tell from the design what the theme was going to be.

She was skating to my favourite piece of Indian music, “Nagada Sang Dhol” by Shreya Ghoshal and Osman Mir.

Unfortunately, it was not perfect. She had a fall. But even with that, it was beautiful.

I am really looking forward to seeing it done clean.

She goes into 6th position.

CaroLiza_fan

When Maisa UUTELA (FIN) came out, my first thought was "ah another Indian programme. But this time the skater is portraying somebody from a more modest background".

She was wearing a brown dress, that was partially in rags.

No, it wasn't an Indian programme. It was a "Dune" programme.

Just how high is this dune? I mean to say, when are we going to get over it?

She goes into 8th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Ooooh. A Moroccan skater taking us into the last resurfacing of the day.

Well, Dana-Syrine CRAUSAZ (MAR) is actually from Geneva. She has only just switched to Morocco. She was still competing for Switzerland last season.

What a beautiful black and pale blue dress.

She looks disappointed waiting for her scores. And so does her coach.

They're keeping her waiting a long time.

She goes into 23rd position.
