2025 NRW Trophy | Nov 13-16

Angel DELEVAQUE (NED) is wearing a gorgeous dress that is mainly black, but has a coloured section of blues and greens.

And the music is beautiful too. If her ISU Bio is correct, it is a couple of pieces by Christian Reindl.

And just to complete the set, the skating is beautiful too!

With that orange jacket, Jorik looks like he has just come in from digging up the roads!

I really enjoyed that. I hope we get to see it regularly this season.

She geos into 2nd position.

Nikol KOVAŘÍKOVÁ (CZE) was skating to a modern take on viking music. And it didn't really work. It would have sounded better without the modern slant to it.

Then a cover of "Zombie". I much preferred the piano cover we heard earlier.

She was wearing a maroon and peach dress.

I wasn't keen on it. Maybe if she had used "proper" viking music and the Cranberries' original of "Zombie", I would have enjoyed it more.

She's not happy.

She goes into 23rd position.

Emmi AHLSTEDT (FIN) was wearing a dress that was blue and pink. And it did actually look nice.

She was skating to a beautiful song, "Night Light" by Laufey.

It didn't go perfectly. But, you can see that she has the makings of a beautiful skater.

She goes into 7th position.

Lilou REMEYSEN (BEL) is wearing a beautiful very dark blue dress.

She was skating to a very emotional rendition of "I Dreamed A Dream".

Everything about that was absolutely beautiful.

I have liked programmes of Lilou's before, but this one really got to me.

She goes into 2nd position.

Diana Alexandra ZIESECKE (DEU) was wearing a dress that was red at the top, then became blue, then became black.

I really enjoyed that programme.

As well as a coach, there's a dog sitting with her!

She goes into 2nd position.

Back-to-back Israeli skaters now, but with a Warm-Up in between them.

I didn't notice this before when I previously saw Simona TKACHMAN (ISR), but the black pattern on her grey dress is actually branches of a tree.

She was skating to a beautiful piano instrumental piece, "Berlin" by Sofiane Pamart.

And the skating was beautiful too.

She goes into 7th position.

I remember this programme from Sophia SHIFRIN (ISR). She is skating to a stage version of "Big Spender", followed by "Rich Man's Frug".

She is wearing a gorgeous black dress, with a pearl necklace.

I like the way she incorporated some of the distinctive moves from the "Rich Man's Frug" dance.

I enjoyed that (although I have heard better versions of "Big Spender").

New leader. By a good margin too.

How much is the Arrakis tourist board paying to get all these skaters to promote their planet?!

Yet another "Dune" programme, this time from Anna GERKE (DEU).

I have to admit, this is one of the better ones.

Awww, she made a heart with her arms when she was coming off the ice.

Double wave from her in the box in the corner when walking to the results area.

She is very happy already. What will it be like when the scores are announced?

Yep, she is delighted.

She geos into 2nd position.

Anastasia BRANDENBURG (CHE) was hyping herself up before she started skating.

She is wearing a dress where the top half is green with cream trim, and the bottom half is pink.

I was enjoying the instrumental music, but then some opera singing started. Admittedly, not very loud. It was almost drowned out by the music. But, it was still there.

The skating was good.

And in total contrast to before the programme, she looked like a rabbit in the headlights after it had finished.

Is she crying? Or is it the way the light in the results area is catching her makeup?

She goes into 7th position.

Veronika LUCKO (LTU) is in action again! :jaw: Does this girl ever have a week off? :drama:

I've seen this programme four times now, and every time I have thought that everything about it was beautiful.

Mind you, seeing the replays, there were quite a few dodgy landings.

She was rubbing her tummy when she sat down. Has she hurt herself? Or is she not well?

Either way, it's concerning to see. Her coach is joining in comforting her.

She goes into 18th position.

I would not be surprised if she withdrew. Better to look after your health.

Uliana TORBENKOVA (KGZ) wearing a dress that is mainly purple, but has black sleeves and skirt part.

Really dramatic instrumental music. Then in the second half, out of no-where it turned into a cover of Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill".

Unfortunately, there were issues. But when it is done clean, I am going to love everything about this programme.

She looks sad waiting for her scores.

She goes into 13th position.

Lotta ARTIMO (FIN) finishing off the opening day skating to a female singing a capella. Oh, wait, an orchestra has come in.

She was wearing a black dress with a silver design that was supposed to look like a corset.

All I can say is "wow"!

I absolutely loved that!

Her coach is very happy.

She goes into 9th position.

I'm disappointed. But she seems happy enough.

And that's a wrap for today.

I probably won't be able to watch any more of this LIVE, due to the final rounds of both the MotoGP (from Valencia) and the real road racing (from Macau) being this weekend.

But, I hope that those that do enjoy the remaining days.

Day 2 of the NRW Trophy is starting now with all the Novice Free Dances.

Since I watched them yesterday and there's not that many of them, I'll watch the Dancers today. But then I'll probably be leaving for the bikes.

Livestream for the Free Dance competitions is now on air.

Here is the link for the livestream:

All the other information you may need can be found in the OP of this thread.

Hope this helps

Oh, that wasn't the announcer introducing the start of the first competition. That was him telling us that there is a short delay due to technical issues.

Oh, well. Back to "Charlie's Angels".

CaroLiza_fan

He wasn't wrong when he said "short delay". We are go!

Just realised when they were going through the Judges - Tim with an "E"'s sister is amongst them.

Dominique DIECK (DEU) is Judge 4 for all three of today's Free Dance competitions.

Here she is competing in Juniors at this very arena:

Dominique DIECK / Michael ZENKNER - 2010 NRW Trophy SD
Dominique DIECK / Michael ZENKNER - 2010 NRW Trophy FD

The wee girl in the Basic Novice partnership is looking very summery. She is wearing a yellow, green and blue dress. Today's dress goes better with her glasses than yesterday's. The boy is wearing a white shirt and black trousers.

The first piece of music was beuatiful. And then, without warning, it changed to "I Like To Move it". Such a contrast!

They were good.

They win.

And we go straight onto the Intermediate Novices.

CaroLiza_fan

Here we go again. Twins being dressed the same.

Well, although Martha HONKAVUO / Winston HONKAVUO (FIN) were both wearing all black, the costumes were not identical. The top of Martha's jumpsuit had red sparkly spots around the neckline. And Winston's top had sparklies on it.

They seem very happy.

CaroLiza_fan

The younger Finnish partnership looked stunning. The girl was wearing a beautiful sky blue dress, while the boy was wearing a black suit with tails. And a sky blue dicky bow to match his partnerh's dress.

They were skating to "What A Wonderful World". It was Louis Armstrong for most of the programme, but then at the end there was a snippet of one of these "epic" covers to get the music to the correct length. Which for me spoiled the ending. Could they not have just got Louis to do an reprise?

It was a beautiful programme.

They go into the lead of both the FS and overall.
