After yesterday's Carnival, we get drama from Mark today Quite different from his latest programs

Intro very nicely done, hitting naturally all the accents in the music. Nice melody and I liked that the music picks up in the end, but hopefully this ending will get a bit more vibrant during the season.

Yes, I noticed that too. Svetlana looked very worried both today and yesterday before the start of Mark's skates..... maybe it's just that she knows the jumps are not ready and she was worried that he would hurt himself... but honestly she did look so worried that it would seem like something else is going on

Jumps are definitely off in general but it's very early season for him, only first event and not competitive. Hopefully things will improve and he will be ready for the GP.

But he had a very emotional connection to the skating and to the music. Both today and yesterday it seemed to me that what he regressed jump-wise, he more than compensated improving artistically (that won't work for the scores though of course ). Don't know, maybe if he is not trying to do 7 quads, he can express himself even more freely. Personally, I will take it happily. But since I'm not the one judging, he better bring his jumps back for competition
