Well, Sonya probably wouldn't have made the podium even if she didn't go for the second 3A, but it certainly wasn't smart of her to do so...A clean skate with no 3A attempts would have probably put her in 4th overall, but they keep insisting on this jump at least she didn't go for the quad.

Also, most AoP skaters seem to do better when Plushenko isn't constantly popping up at competitions, but oh well (I still wonder how Trusova would have done if Mikhailov or Alekseev had gone to Worlds with her instead of Plushenko).

Well, I doubt the result would have been much different, other than her maybe beating Liza.

She wouldn't. That's no the problem in my opinion. The problem is 7th place is a difficult position to qualify to Jr Nationals.

Kolya Kolesnikov still has the potential but still refuses to deliver clean skate. He was solid, but to achieve more than eventual medal and the GP stage he needs more.

He started including quads into his programs less than a year ago. Who could his jumps were going to be this good.

Argh, being a Diana fan is hard. This must be how Gorbacheva fans feel.

She was my favourite here, such an elegant skater.. well, of course, I exclude Dzepka, she was in her own category above all else..

Just watched the top 3 girls. Dzepka was beautiful as always. Smagina did well, but I don't care for her program. The switch from the music in the first half to the 2nd half is random af. This was my first time watching Fedotova, but she's a nice little skater. Gorgeous spins. Mixed feelings on this version of in the end, though. Does anyone know if her bday is before or after July?

Sonya's mistake on the 3A and then failed 2nd attempt really was unfortunate...she's got plenty of time left in juniors, so not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but she screwed herself out of a 3rd place finish and she probably won't have a better chance of a medal at any of the other stages.

Finally made it to the juniros! Is there a chance I catch up before Magnitogorsk? I can't watch it till Sunday because Mom is coming to visit and we are watching Magnitogorsk and internationals togther before setting off for Saskatoon.
