2025 Russian Senior Test Skates

She cannot be replaced at this point. She is going to the Olympics, or no Russian woman is.
OK. So she must train so hard - considering that not only her but also all of her rivals will be training so hard equally. That's mean she is not wining at all at this stage - forget to be 1st just even for being on the podium would seens impossible to me.

Would struggle to break 190 based on today and yesterday.

Like I said 4 years ago at this event Trusova with four quads, everyone struggling with triples now.

Adelka not the same skater since she the AIN rules came into effect.
She never dealt with injury before. Worst time for it to happen. These failures seem more mental than physical anyways though. I think she is completely tired. From everything. I think the team messed up forcing her to keep programs she is probably sick of just for the competition. The drudgery must be terrible in combination with everything else. She is getting treated like a machine it seems like.

I can't help but notice that the entire atmosphere of Russian skating completely changed when Kamila was removed from the tournaments.

I still enjoy it as much personally, but regarding the community and intangible atmospheric factors, clearly it is not the same.

I love Alisa. She is flexible, she has personality on the ice, and she has some nice power in those legs. From my view she doesn't have a weakness, except for consistency, and even that has improved.

I'm confident that things will be fine for Adelia and even (cautiously 🙂 ) optimistic about her perspectives in Milan.

Most importantly here, she is a fighter. She does have a fighting fire inside her and that can carry you quite far. See for instance, last week, when it did actually matter, she was solid, even though her general health and preparation levels did probably not change that much between one week and another.

Yea her programs are just banal unfortunately. I liked her SP a couple years ago it showed her lyrical potential.

To be fair, Trusova was a special case in terms of quads.

The past two weekends are some what cathartic.

I don't have to worry for Adelia over the next 4.5 months.

She couldn't be further right now from having content that will win her Olympic gold.

These skaters go on Eteri's shows and skate harder content 2-3 times per week.

I don't buy it that she's tired from last weekend.

I thought it was just the lutz that is problematic, turns out everything. And the pressure is really going to ramp up on Adelia now.

She just lacks some of previous speed across the ice.

I can't see her going from this form to having 3 quads and a triple axel in the space of 4.5 months.

When Valieva lost her quads after the Olympic season, she was still doing them in training, and her triples were still as rock solid as ever.

Adelia looks wild and like she's only just hanging on with every jump.

Since Adelia and Alina have come under the "Focused Olympic Program", they don't seem to be the same skaters 🤔

That completely fell apart after the start.

Trusova did 5 quads this time four years ago, look where we are now many can barely land triples.

There are various factors, some controversial and I might be accused of peddling conspiracies so I will hold back.
I do not think we can compare . 4 years ago test skates were the start of the bloodbath for 2 tickets to Beijing ( 1 ticket was pretty much guaranteed to Kamila). This season is completely different. Adelia is going to Milan, Russians are not going to European, Words or GPS, why bother?

Likely just a coincidence, and it is just an observation.
TBH I do buy the story that they were both severely injured. Adeliia even tried to give Alina her spot because she wasnt ready; it was that bad. Alina had to deny cause she was even worse off.

There would be no reason to come up with some excuses if they knew there were other external factors at play here which would remain until Olympics anyways.

I mean there is nothing to talk about at this point. Either Adeliia is going to the Olympics or noone is. Either she gets her quads and solid triples back or not. She is the chosen one (😄) and now we just have to wait and see what happens during the season and in February. I think It’s more about the pressure than the actual content in the long run. Mental blocks can be more crucial than actual injuries (side eye to Amber Glenn)…

The pressure is immense, with only one spot, no international competitions, its a big ask of anyone, to be honest I think the ISU should have allowed the neutral athletes to compete in the Europeans, grand Prix's, so they get some experience of being on the world circuit. To be fair though I thought Petr and Adelia competed well in Beijing, so its too early to say really.

You're talking about it like there was anything good about it. In reality, she overtrained, fractured her food, and barely recovered by qualifying nationals. In the end, the Olympics were won by a girl who didn't have any quads so early in the season.

They can't compete in GP because it goes against the rules of the series. And if they were allowed to compete now, there would be no valid explanation for why they can't compete in future seasons.
