Great score for C/B! Will be interesting to see how the French do next week. Hopefully the panel will be strict like the last few comps so it’s an easier comparison.

To be fair, part of the reason they are slower than some teams is they complexity of choreography and hold. Open skating is faster skating.

It takes longer to get this complexity up to speed.

I got up just in time to see Madi and Evan's score, and had to go back for the skate. I am not keen on both in all black for ID and pairs - it tends to blank out the movements - and that's a really sophisticated dress (not something we see a lot of in ID) on Madi but I shouldn't be surprised if she tinkers with it in the run up to Olys.

They won by a packet. of course.

Well, this event solidifies the tragedy that France doesn't have three Olympic spots. Theo and Loicia have been excellent this quad and it sucks.

Yeah I feel for them so much. They are such a young and exciting team so it would have been good for them to get this Olympic experience :-(

I think we can say that
CPOM, Italians and Smart-Dieck are not getting into GPF....

Also, one of the remaining teams from the top 8, perhaps two (LaLa were 7th, LB were 8th) will not be getting a spot either.

I thought Chock and Bates were great. Much better than in China. By Milan, this will be incredible.

A lot of discussion about her dress, which seems pointless. She'd be stunning in a potato sack, so I don't see how it matters.

It will be interesting to see how S/D next week without any mistakes since that cost them in their first Grand Prix. They could overtake Z/K if they skate clean.

Yes, but this is Madison Chock, costume designer extraordinaire, so we expect a lot She always brings her A game when it comes to costumes so this felt very understated by comparison. She would look great in a sack but we want the drama and bling

All outperformed by the team that didn't even qualify to FD.

That’s what I’m hoping for too!! No disrespect to Z/K cause they really have improved this year, but I just adore LaLa.

I still want red accents on her wrists and on him.
I know I am as stubborn as a bull on this...
It's like they tease us by tweaking the program and costumes all season long

ANY kind of "Spanish" dance just screams for some red in the costume.

The point of the skirt on the dress/body suit is that it's supposed to be a "Spanish/Latin Dance." But I truly think that part of it (other than the skirt) is mostly gone. They skated slow to me and their program is empty, and we won't talk about their true skating skills compared to other teams there and in the GP series overall. I would have put La/La over them hands down.
