I’ve been incredibly busy since December 2024—traveling back to Japan for treatment and then diving straight into preparing music and programs for my students. (She coaches out of Las Vegas for one place)

Getting approval for each skater’s music has been a huge challenge. Today, one of my students was in tears after their music was rejected. I completely understand and respect artists’ copyrights, but it’s tough to see young skaters unable to perform to the music they truly love.
I hope we can find a best way for everyone…

Two, its the skaters who should get paid for giving music exposure. Sarah Brightman made TV specials with US Public Television Just like Celtic Woman did and it floated all the boats....

Not this again, we have had whole threads in the subject.

To recap, exposure does not pay the bills, and if you want to read what creative types think of that argument, google the term 'choosing beggars'. Also, there are at most four or five skaters on the whole frickin' planet who could bring an even vaguely worthwhile amount of exposure and given that not one of them are currently in competition that's hardly gonna fly with musicians and composers (except for the very very top few who don't need it anyway) who are as it stands getting ripped off by the downloading public left and right. Yes, the big corporations are being legal {deleted} and sure, a solution is needed. But it ain't gonna be going back to free usage of other people's legal property, so TPTB need to put on their big officialdom's panties and look for something else.
