2025 World Team Trophy Exhibition

Beautiful, Mone. Just beautiful.

The Japanese skaters really do know how to do beautiful programmes.

Chris was sounding emotional when talking about it after she finished.

I don't blame him.

Took a while to figure out what was happening because Chris was still talking at the start of the introduction.

A "Street Fighter" programme?! Now I've seen everything!

And in Nastya's case, there wasn't much more left to see! 😲

The costumes didn't really work when the music switched to "True" by Spandau Ballet, though.

Now they're throwing goodies into the audience.

They are really going all out doing a PR exercise here!

Beautiful programme from Charlène and Marco.

Given that this is Japan, I thought they might have gone for something a bit more fun. Like the original exhibition version of the robots programme.

But, I enjoyed it.

Ach, Jason. I was really enjoying your "Hit The Road Jack" programme, until the music switched to a weird re-mixed version.

🙉

Still, he was enjoying himself out there. And a happy Jason makes a happy viewer.

"Top Gun", Synchro style taking us into the interval.

I'm not really into Synchronised Skating, but that music just makes you swell with pride.

Not sure about including the Lady Gaga song at the end. I would have stuck with music from the first film and not bothered with any from the second. The soundtrack from the first film is just epic.

Right, time for breakfast.

Oh hang on. The mascot is on the ice. Food can wait.

I don't see any Zamboni...oh....here they come, I've never seen 5 mini Zambonis before. Interesting how they do the resurfacing there.

I missed the mini-zambonis, but I have completed many arcane bedtime rituals, so I'll be ready when this ends.
-------
I got bored watching the ice dry and rewound to the mini-zambonis. One of the advantages of the small ones is that the drivers can actually see, so they can be on the ice with the ice-chip people.

You would think that with so many Zambonis in action at the same time that it would mean that we would have a shorter interval than normal.

I was not expecting it to be a half-hour break! :jaw: :drama:

On the plus side, I got more of my breakfast eaten than I was expecting. 🥣

On the down side, it means I will be doing everything else later than I expected, as the Gala will be finishing later than I thought.

Chris said 15 minutes, and it's been well over that.

What? This is rigged LOL Team USA wins the Team Spirit award. I thought it would be Italy or Canada. Also Madison Chock is Jason Brown's emotional support person as he has always been leaning on her to his right for support when asked to speak in Japanese to the WTT live crowd LOL and before the award ceremony, so cute. I wonder which team would have won Team Spirit if they had the audience vote instead of Asahi TV declaring the winner.

Oh, get on with it!

What?! America wins?! :jaw:

Well, I suppose it looks good having the same team win both the competitive part of the event, and the fun part of the event.

Plus, Jason.

But, I thought France would win it, hands down.

Loved that programme from Mao Shimada.

She certainly was defying gravity.

My only complaint was the green lighting used for most of the programme. I made it difficult to see her beautiful green dress. The purple lighting worked better when it was being used.

Folks, I beg to differ. The little introductions that Team USA did for each and every skater, the swag (made by Jason ;) ), the KnC covered in decorations like a party store gone wild. I thought that they would lose out because they wouldn't want to give the gold medal winners too much, glad to see I was wrong.

Techno version of Hit the Road Jack has got to hit the road. Don't do Mr Ray Charles like that:oops:

Well, I was disappointed earlier when the Japanese team were doing their team number in their team uniforms. But at least they had butterfly wings.

The American team didn't even have anything like that. They just put on sunglasses for the second song.

As with all group numbers, it was fun.

But, my heart goes with Japan.
