2026 Canadian Nationals : Women's Long Program

Shoot. That fall on the flip was so unfortunate, but all of the other jumps were done so well. She needs to really push hard through the step sequence because she is kind of skating a bit reserved. But those triples - I think possibly among the best in the world, no exaggeration. Incredible flow in and out, beautiful air position, incredible height. Wow!

I know she's always struggled a bit to add a triple on the end of her jumps for whatever reason - great job on the double axle triple toe, and I wonder if adding a triple salco sequence would work for her, because she has such great flow in and out of her jumps, that I think two double axle combos might be the way to go for her.

She would have been ahead If the fall on the flip hadn't cost her to miss her sequence. But that is definitely the best I've ever seen her skate technically

Already, this is the deepest I've ever seen women skating at Nationals. A score of 111 in the first group? And then two skates pushing the 120 Mark in the second group? And Landry would be over 120, probably 123 or 124 with her sequence, right?

The final flight is really going to have to skate in order to stay ahead, which is great!

she was trying 3s-3t earlier this fall.... not successful. I know you are talking about 2a-EU-3s. maybe she should try it. I haven't seen her do it. Her jumps are so big it's hard to put a +3 on them... I wonder about 3t-3t which may work better in the SP

Shame about the opening jumps for Uliana. I do see that she's been working on getting her levels in the spins and step sequence since SCI.

Hers and Anna Pezzetta's triple jumps are literally so huge. If both of them become more stable skaters, I'm sure those two could battle it out for the Worlds podium in the future.
Yeah, I find Anna to be a bit more Wild, which is why I think she's had such a rough year in terms of jump completion and results, but she also does skate with a ton more speed than Landry. But I totally agree that it's so nice to see such textbook jumps - I would give Landry the edge in terms of technique and control.

Uliana did recover after the fall but she lost performance. So much talent and this year has been better on performance but not today.

I know - sometimes the skaters with the huge jumps just aren't able to add a triple on the end. It was that way with Fiona Bombardier as well, and I think part of the reason she switched to pairs. But that double axle triple toe was a huge step in the right direction, and I think if she can control the triple flip a bit more, and even make it a bit smaller in the combination, then maybe she could do it..? With the success of this year, I think this sets her up really well for next year, and maybe a solid triple triple finally. With that, and a tiny bit more projection and looking up at the audience rather than at the ice, she really does have all the skills to be a Canadian champion.
