2026 Junior World Championships | Men's Free Skate

Jiarui has lovely body awareness and shows a sureness of where he is in the air and good judgment in what difficulty he can complete successfully. Love his posture and flexibility and musicality. I look forward to watch his artistry develop as he has all the tools and only needs more strength that he will gain as he grows. I would like to see him improve the speed on his spins.

An uninformed question: Where is Grayson Long? Is he injured? Not qualify for Jr Worlds?

Mark, since I know you read this forum, here's what the ISU should do with the men's (and women's) event PCS/TES scoring:

  1. Raise the BV of level 4 steps and combo/change-foot spins to 5 points to encourage athletes to put more effort and care into those elements, so a perfect level 4 step sequence would be worth 7.5 points with GOE, which is the same as a nice 3Lz. Easier position spins, like a simple sit spin, would be at 3.5-4 points at a level 4
  2. Replace one of the spins with a choreo spin with the same scoring in terms of GOE as the choreo sequence (this is being discussed as a new change starting next season)
  3. Raise the BV of the choreo sequence and new choreo spin to 4 points, with a max GOE of 3 points instead of the current 2.5 to encourage more care given to these elements
  4. Have the PCS be set at a max of 120 for the men and 90 for the women to account for the increased TES score, instead of the current 100 and 80. This would actually make the factoring easier, too, because you would multiply each category by x4 and x3 instead of the current 3.33333333333 weirdness
  5. Have only 6 jumping passes in the FS, as previously discussed

  1. Raise the BV of level 4 steps and combo/change-foot spins to 5 points to encourage athletes to put more effort and care into those elements, so a perfect level 4 step sequence would be worth around 7.5 points with GOE, which is the same as a nice 3Lz. Easier position spins, like a simple sit spin, would be at 3.5-4 points at a level 4

5. Add back a step sequence in the LP for juniors.
6. Add a one foot step sequence in the SP for Seniors
