He started really well, just unfortunately some messy landings later on. Not sure what's up with the spin... If that stays invalid, that might be quite costly.

Looking at Jackie's notes, seems like that spin did get credit.

I mean, that's basically exactly what happened - Grayson didn't get injured until fairly recently, so David surely couldn't have expected to be here before that.

yeah.. that's what I mean.. at the same time, as first alternate... you need to be ready. He was so sure he wasn't going that he was working on completely different things.
this being said, he did very well under the circumstances

That was a really great skate for Yehor, apart from the popped Lutz at the end. He should be very proud of himself The 4T was gorgeous.

The winter blues certainly aren't helping, you don't realise how much the seasonal depression if affecting you until there's a nice, sunny day and all of a sudden you start to feel much better

It's been sunny here lately and I live in a generally warm part of the country. Sunlight is still really helpful, though, and I do like stepping outside to take a sun break. There are days when I am really thankful that the sun exists.

Impressive GOE on that opening quad toe! I think Yehor just started to run out of gas at the end of the program but what a good skater he is. Well done.
We've been treated to some mighty fine skating in the first half of this competition. I'm excited to see what's yet to come.

Really enjoyed the intensity of Yehor's skating at the beginning! Ran out of steam near the end and the choreography could use a little improvement, but I definitely think he could improve on those things!

That's so true. I just love going out for my walks on sunny days during the winter. Just breathing the fresh air and seeing the blue sky lifts my spirits so much. And, I'm SO grateful for the figure skating season as well because I love the sport and also the interaction with all of you other skating fans. This year, especially with the Olympics making February fly by, has been awesome.
