It's been so much fun hanging out with everybody on GS for the Olympics.
I usually skip the closing ceremonies but look forward to sharing Worlds with all of you!

I'd like to see Ilia drop the quadgod moniker and focus on other parts of his skater so in 2030 he will be known as a great skater and not just his quads. Leave that younger more immature Ilia in the past.

Ok that was actually heart-warming. I didn't want to watch the whole gala, but now I'm glad that I did. I loved Jun and Adam and Yuma and Nina and Kaori and Amber and Shun and so many more and I am in constant awe of the beauty of this sport.
And this concludes the Olympic games for us! Thank you all for your company! That was fun! but also oh my goodness am I exhausted

Ilia turned in a great skate and I'm so glad he had this moment of redemption!
His costume took away from the performance for me, though. I wish he would go for cleaner, simpler looks; his outfits often seem distracting and don't do justice to his athleticism. JMO.
I believe that they are trying super super hard to limit our replays and social media shares of copyrighted music! On top of making sure that we view advertising on a platform we are paying for.

They were the only ones I skipped after a minute or so, because I was slightly behind and got a message Kung-Fu Panda was already on, and I felt like their program was going nowhere, just the same old.
I love just about everything about Ilia and his skating, but I agree with this. His short program from 2025 Lombardia Trophy popped up in my YouTube feed this week. He was dressed all in black, in what basically looked like practice clothes. The gala will be covered in the NBC rabbit ears channel at 8:30 est and following with a bunch of other stuff. I did not get home in time for the beginning of the show. Peacock switched from part of Yuma to the end of Shaiderov's Panda, so I missed Chock & Bates, Kaori, Ilia, Conti & Macii, & FB/C, and almost all of Kung Fu Panda. I hope some of them will be on the prime time show, or that there will be a replay tile.

I don't always, but this time I really enjoyed the gala. A bit sad the Japanese didn't do a Team event thing. The Italian one was really beautiful, the Americans were fun. All ID medallists did some beautiful pieces (I'm including the Italians, they did get a team bronze) while Olivia/Tim and Alison/Saulius were enjoyable for other reasons. Some lovely skates from the women, Niina's gala piece is such a joy to watch. I am not really a fan of Panda, but I know lots of people asked for it, and Mikhail seems to love it himself. I believe it was a slightly different one than before? I love the Japanese men, and Junhwan's Ina Bauer is one to die for (and the audience agreed with me). Nice watch. I can recommend it.
