To me, the skate of the night was Bekker/Hernandez. They really brought out all the elements of the choreography while not neglecting the skating. Z/K also did well. So sad for the Koreans and Germans! I also really enjoyed L/B. The 90s theme runs together, so their skate broke up the monotony for me. Piper--what a catch! Even with the stumble in the twizzles, F/G are close to G/P. Still seems like F/G are primed for bronze. L/L--I think I finally figured out what I do not like so much about their skating. Their holds to me seem simple and open compared to other teams. I directly compared their holds to G/P, and, wow, what a difference in creativity, variety, and quality. Mrazekova/Mrazek--Glad they still made the free, as I think they will be a real crowd pleaser. Interesting to see what a partially non-figure skating audience finds the most impressive. Seems like Lauriault/Le Gac were crowd pleasers! They have moments which are eyecatching and good, even though the music was not!
