...I am speechless, we got a near-clean Sasha Selevko at the Olympics with this masterpiece of a free program? This was spectacular skate and I am so happy to see this program skated up to its potential on Olympic ice! (fyi the last two jumps of everyone's program don't exist anymore, it's a new rule that the ISU implemented 20 minutes ago)

Such a shame that Selevko botched those two jumps. He's been a revelation for me this event. I haven't seen loads from this quad, and I don't know if I had seen him before. He's more musical than some of the big names we've had in the past ten years.

Yeah, that's the issue with Olympics (and obviously even moreso summer ones), too much stuff happening at once too often. And even with the ability to find retransmissions it's hard to avoid getting spoilered for the results. :drama:

Tell me about it! I am having to watch a lot of things delayed, especially since my two favourite wintersports, figure skating and ski jumping, are always on at the same time.

I was catching up on biathlon and cross country today that I had missed, and I debated whether to watch them in the order they happened, or watch them in the order the next races are on tomorrow.

I decided on the former, and I am so glad I did because a matter of minutes into the cross country coverage, Patrick and Mike had told us what had happened in the biathlon! (They had commentated on it too).

Yikes, Sasha got slow and sloppy there at the end. What a shame! Appears he needs to fit more run-throughs in his training to overcome that lack of stamina.

Sasha Selevko is not His Majesty the King of Cacti for no reason, he is as wonderful as he is prickly

The part of Selevko's choreo where he beats the boards it's quite something. And this time, it quite worked, he looked half dead coming to the boards, did some big tapping and seemed to get a second life to try and finish the program 🙂
