I read somewhere that Ilia skipped practice this morning. I wonder if this is why people are speculating that he might be injured. I guess we'll see when he skates.

But I hope everyone here has a wonderful wonderful skate. I have my favorites, but I very much want Deniss to have a good skate today. I'm shallow, I think he's cute.

I also want Deniss to have a great skate today - it's been a tough old season for him and I'd love him to have a fantastic skate - when he's on form, he's so spectacular, and he's always fabulous to watch

Max, wonderfully old school/classic skating in the short program. Clean and a great tribute to his parents. They raised him well! So happy and proud for him! He looks like he is savoring the Olympic moments.

That's the pressure of the Olympics. He is going in as the "undisputed" champ, destined for gold.

Of course that will have a huge impact. Just look at Nathan from 2018.

Malinin has a messy free skate and still comfortably won against someone having the best skate of their career.
