2026 Olympics: Where Will You be Watching?

watching curling un CBC gem now...

be ready for adverts. I went to another tab, came back, and I had to reload again. Not fun. I guess I will be watching a lot of things on TV anyway... even if not live, due to the time zones... but yeah, too... many.... ads...

ETA. : ads stopped rather quickly. They are now appropriately placed between ends which makes sense. So I am okay with it.

Well, I booted up Peacock on my roku this morning and Voila! All my book marks suddenly appeared... Now I need a plan on how to record NBC rabbit ears and watch various peacock coverages before NBC takes them down... Thanks to PaulE, I have two each 9th generation Magnavox DVRs with digital tuners, DVD players with upconverters, and DVD burners.

I think I have a plan to watch. Team day #1 in the PST starts at 1 am and goes to 5:55am. I have no idea how long it will take Peacock to put up the replay. The abreviated NBC broadcast in my market starts at 9 am.
I think If I start at 5:30 am, I can go back in the stream to the beginning and watch through the end even though its past 5:55 am...if not, I just watch the venue feed when they start up replays. Opening ceremonies will be broadcast twice on NBC rabbit ears in my market. Day 2 will be much easier.

I canceled my Peacock annual plan during Skate America. One month premium plus plan now purchased to watch the Olympics. We were generally impressed with Peacock during the 2024 Paris Games...options to watch multiple things at the same time on one screen, etc. The hope of Venue Feed without commentary for skating was the deciding factor.

At home via my Peacock streaming and regular TV. What i miss going to doctors possible staying up late watch on USA or hope Peacock replays

Wish when the gunsmoke has settled that they would tell us how many people watched venue feed vs canned Yak. But they wont. I hope they do this in the future....No canned yak for me, thank you.

I did set up an account for that GEM site in Canada thanks to the kind fan here who put up a list of Canadian zip codes for us VPN users. I did so using my Google account information. When I tried using the site earlier today to watch some curling, just the fact I had logged into it kinda made my PC go crazy and start 'doing stuff' all by itself. I noticed that even though I logged out of it, when I later logged into YouTube, it showed I had logged in twice. Still more crazy stuff occurring. I finally got it to stop when I logged out of YouTube (where it now showed I was entered three times even though I did no such thing) and totally cleaned out my PC. So I wonder how 'sketchy' it might be for me to have set up the GEM account at all, using my VPN? I intend to try viewing events there--they even show opening and closing ceremonies and the figure skating gala--but if my PC starts going nuts again I'll need to 'leave Canada', fully clean out my PC, turn it off (maybe just reset?) then go back in using VPN set to Germany. I saved the link for the German site in my documents.

It looks like our qq link isn't working for the Olympics, as Japan has figured out some way to block their sports channel from 'illicit' use.

If nothing actually works for me, I'll just cancel the GEM account and 'unhook' it from my Google account (which may be causing the problems), go back to bed and read about the results later. I do care, but it is all just a bit silly, especially the 'team event' hoopla. Am hoping for safe, good presentations from everyone involved; knowing how many are trying to compete while injured is worrisome.

This is something the ISU or IOC needs to work on. Selling TV rights to TV networks who will only cover a tiny bit of the event (in Germany they often only show Hase&Voludin but the whole competition is geoblocked on ISU youtube) is not helping the sport to become popular. There are fans willing to even pay for a working stream but get geoblocked. That's just stupid.
I am happy if no German TV channel is interested in TV rights so I can watch the ISU stream without VPN. But is that how it should be?

Well here Chilevision Will Broadcast but I don't know if will be all the event or not and claro sports but sadly with the not so good Mexican comments that talks more that parrots and just gossips but not something technical
Update : Claro sports in YouTube allow watch it but with a membership and haven't rebroadcast for watch it later. So is useless 😢😢

Somebody knows where can I watch it even with VPN ?

I cannot believe I missed the whole first day because Australia is not broadcasting anything. Can someone provide some sort of livestream that is easily accessible?

Peacock Venue Feeds have Belinda and Olly commentating. I thought that would happen. No sign of the replay of Day 1 yet, however. I'll check back in 2 or 3 hours. I personally am counting on the Venue Feed replays being available for the 24 hours they promised us.🤞

Damn, I was counting on Peacock to allow replays of the venue feed, but it's only showing the USA network broadcast! How do I watch the Olympics now...? I really don't want to listen to Johnny and Tara again...

I personally doubt they'll have the venue feed up anytime soon and am seeking a backup option...

Day 2 and Day 3 each have a venue feed (no commentary) tile
Yes, but after how things have been today so far, I am afraid those will disappear immediately after the livestream (no replay option).

If we are stuck with NBC commentary for replays, I wish NBC had been clear about that in the FAQ. We're back in the 90s where we each only got our own country's commentators.

I feel like in 2018 and 2022, the Venue Feeds were left up on Peacock as replays for a short time (I got to first hear Belinda back in 2018).

Is there a way to watch from the US without Johnny/Tara? I have a VPN. I would like English or no commentary. The commercials alone on Peacock are making me crazy.
