2026 Rooster Cup Lakes Trophy | Apr 4-6

Maria MINASYAN (ARM) wearing a beautiful black dress with sparklies.

As for what she was skating to, well, it's been a while since I posted this:

It was the trailerised version, not the Rolling Stones original.

She goes into the lead of both the FS and overall.

But she is only 0.65 points ahead of Caoilfhionn in the FS standings! :drama:

Finally! Somebody doing a Cruella De Vil programme who is actually wearing dalmatian fur!  :points:

Well, the dress that Dmitra MILOSEV (SRB) was wearing was mainly black. But the section around her left shoulder was dalmatian pattern. There was also a slash at the front of the skirt part of the dress that let us see that she was also wearing a white petticoat.

I really enjoyed that programme.

She couldn't believe it when the scores were announced! Her jaw dropped! :jaw:

She goes into the lead of both the FS and overall.

Mmmm. The main camera must have died again while we were on the results area camera. Because we were on the static camera for Skater #8.

Well, after the initial problems first thing this morning, the technicians did a great job, because we didn't have any more problems all day. I have wanted to congratulate them, but was waiting until the end of the day because I didn't want to risk jinxing things. :p

And they have done a great job now, because the main camera is now back for Skater #9.

So, well done for getting everything sorted this morning. And again there now!  :points:

Anyway, #8 Anna Greta VARRO (HUN) was skating to "Supermassive Black Hole" by Muse.

She went into the lead of both the FS and overall.

Hanna Yasmine Neila SEMLALI (MAR) is wearing a beautiful very dark blue and black dress.

I don't know the music that she was skating to. But, I liked it.

I can't read her expression. She might be disappointed. Or nervous. Or not knowing what is going on.

She goes into 3rd position in the FS, and 2nd position overall.

CaroLiza_fan

Anouk de SOETE (BEL) is wearing a black dress with cut-outs.

If there hadn't have been a Belgian flag on the screen, I would have guessed that she was French. Because it was very strange music. The sort you would expect from French Ice Dancers.

Very strange fall on the second part of her combination jump. She just slipped when she was going to take off.

And another fall later on into the boards.

I think she's in shock at what happened.

She goes into 7th position in the FS, and 5th position overall.

So Caoilfhionn moves up another position in the FS standings to 5th. (Iin the overall standings, Anouk goes one position ahead of Caoilfhionn).

Naomi GUYOT (FRA) wearing a top that is white at the shoulders and works it's way down to dark blue. And black leggings.

Skating to music by Woodkid.

She goes into 2nd position in the FS, and the lead overall.

She was disappointed with the scores.

CaroLiza_fan

Charlie HALLET (FRA) wearing a dress that starts as black, and works it's way down to a ligher blue.

No idea what the song was, but it had a bit of everything in there. Rock, wailing, spooky (at one point I thought it was going to turn into the "Addams Family" theme!)

She looks disappointed waiting for her scores.

Oh no. It looks like she's crying now.

:ghug:

She goes into 2nd position in the FS, and the lead overall.

Right, final resurfacing of the day now.

I'm going to go and eat. If I'm not back in time for the next group starting, I'll wind the stream back and play catch-up.

All the best to those still to skate.

CaroLiza_fan

I know it happened a while ago, but my goodness, that was a long time that skater #17 Marija VEISBARTE (LAT) was waiting for her scores! From a rough look at the timeline bar on the video, it was nearly 10 minutes!

Platonova even got up to try to find out what was going on, but the announcement came through just after she started walking out of the area, and she came back.

CaroLiza_fan

I am so sorry.

I just watched Caline REPOND (CHE), and again she had her big sister sitting with her. But as they sat there, I started to realise something. It wasn't Jérômie with her. It was Kimmy.

Ooops! :slink:

Anyway, both girls were absolutely delighted with the score. And they had a massive hug in celebration.

CaroLiza_fan

Mmmmm.

The final skater of the day, Louane WOLFF (FRA), had two ladies accompanying her on the sofa. When the scores were announced, the three of them were not at all happy. Louane got up and left straight away. The other two stayed on the sofa, and the younger one was getting very angry, pointing at things on the screen in front of them.

Louane finished in 5th position in the FS, and 4th position overall.

So, after winning the SP, she ended up without a medal.

Ah, I just discovered, they did show the Podium Ceremonies on the stream. And they brought a camera round to the gate today so that we could see what was happening. And then moved it around closer to the podium for a bettter view.

Well done to whoever thought of doing all that!!!  :points:

There may have been technical issues at times. But the technicians always got them sorted out.

On the whole the CMPAD club have done a great job the past couple of days.

Looking forward to the final day of action tomorrow.

Sorry I'm a bit late. I switched the computer on 5 minutes later than I should have.

The final day of the Lakes Trophy begins now with a Novice 1 double-bill. 40 girls; followed by 2 boys.

Livestream for the Novices 1 Ladies FS is now on air.

Here is the link for today's stream:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gT4HEXJUqos

I'm currently eating my breakfast, and so will be drifting behind during the early stages as I pop back and forth to the kitchen. But, I should get caught up again at the resurfacing.

Hope this helps

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

Well, we begin with the usual lack of sound that we have had at the start of every day. But, I expect that will be rectified soon, as it is always sorted quickly.

No problems with the picture cutting out so far, touch wood.

The camera in the results area is giving us a picture in 4:3 ratio rather than 16:9 ratio. But, that is only a minor thing. At the end of the day, it is better to have a picture in the wrong aspect ratio than no picture at all! ;)

CaroLiza_fan

Thank you for sorting the sound out in time for skater #4 Venla ERONEN (FIN).

As I said yesterday, I always love a James Bond programme. And it made a nice change to hear "The Writing’s On The Wall" being sung by somebody other than Sam Smith. (It was a female singer, but I don't know who).

Aha! She has the same coach as the girl that skated before her, Adina ZAJIC (USA). Former American Pairs skater (and Surya Bonaly's husband) Peter Biver.

Oh, just noticed when I went to check her scores that the livescoring isn't working.

CaroLiza_fan

My goodness! That is four skaters in a row that Peter Biver has been sitting with. :drama:

It will be interesting to see if he has any more skaters later in the competition, or if all his students were deliberately grouped together (perhaps their flight back to Minnesota is later today, and so they needed to skate early).

Anyway, his fourth student, Karsyn CONRAD (USA), was skating to an ABBA medley, consisting of "Chiquitita" and "Voulez Vous"

I loved that programme!!! But, I am biased because I love those songs!

Surya has joined her husband on the sofa!!! So, I take it she was at the boards sending the girls off.

CaroLiza_fan

Marianthi Elisavet TOLI (GRE) had a younger girl sitting between her and her coach. I wonder if that was Nefeli LINTZERI (GRE), who will be skating in the final competition of the event, the Debs 2 Ladies FS.

She goes into 4th position. Splitting two of Biver's students (another one of which is next to skate).

And the livescoring is now working. Thank you!  :points:

:thank:

CaroLiza_fan

Ella TUPAC (USA) was wearing a lovely sky blue dress. I don't know the music, but it was dramatic!

Peter sat down with her straight away, but Surya stood at the edge of shot for a long time before eventually sitting down.

I have to say, Suyra's scarf goes well with Ella's dress.

Ella goes into 10th position. And she is not happy. She is scowling.

Peter is, though, and gives her a pat on the back.

CaroLiza_fan

We have a Japanese girl competing! :cheer:

Rina KOHYAMA (JPN) is wearing a gorgeous royal blue dress with gold pattern.

Interesting. I've seen this music being skated to many times over the years, but this is the first time I've heard it with vocals.

Such a pity she had a fall. Because the rest of it was absolutely beautiful.

Ah, she has Biver and Bonaly with her as well.

She goes into 11th position.

She's happy. But, to be honest, I thought she would be a lot higher. Shows how costly the fall was.

CaroLiza_fan

First resurfacing of the day now. 8 minutes earlier than scheduled.

The next skater is a withdrawal, so it will be interesting to see when we come back. Will it be earlier than planned? Or later than planned? Or on schedule?
