2026 Russian Nationals: General Info & Pre-game Chat

Ah....the most wonderful time of the year. No, not Christmas, Russian Championships time! But sad as well, as I remember the angst four years ago-who would make the Olympic team? My favorite has always been Sasha Trusova, so I was sitting on the edge of my seat, and worried she would be lopped off the team. It's a very different vibe this year-as I noticed at practice the Eteri girls not going to the Olympics were cutting up a bit and having fun-nothing at stake really-and that is okay as well. As a personality I really love Alissa D.-she is always smiling and laughing, I have a feeling that off the ice she is a fun person to hang with.

Going through some of my thoughts before the Russian Nationals.
Frolova is not the same skater so far this season ✔️

Muravieva has no future ❌
Mura really impressed me. Some errors, but the skating skills and former energy looks to be returning. Still, I think she cannot stagnate now she has to push on. Hopefully something like a major injury requiring several months off or surgery doesn't happen that would almost torpedo her career at this stage.
Zakharova has been lowballed so far but yes with two clean performances with two quads she should be on the podium (odds are one of Petrosian, Dvoeglazava, Sadkova bomb). ✔️✔️✔️
Sadkova turned into the younger Sadkova. Little bit of a setback she won't want to repeat it at the GP final (or that even they're going to put on for Adelia and Petr).
