I still dream of getting three spots back and we might if both of my girls go clean in the free, but the depressed cynic in me says nah... am I really supposed to only hope for my tesoro Younghyun to get to the FS and wish for nothing else
I think two spots for Men would be better than three spots for women... that's just my opinion.

Did I just come back and hear the Benny Hill music playing?! :jaw:

Followed by "Axel F".

Never would have imagined those two tunes being played back-to-back!

some notes heading into the last few groups:

  • rotation calls for the tech panel have been pretty lenient, but levels have been difficult to get especially for the steps
  • the referee is ON ONE and handing out an insane number of time violations. They are clearly possessed by the spirit of Barbara Fusar-Poli and her stopwatch
  • the scores have been on average what we would expect at Worlds, maybe a bit lower on PCS/GOE than normal after the #Olympicseasoninflation, but that may change heading into the last two groups, especially with the scoring system likely getting reset at the end of this year
  • TECHNO DVORAK REIGNS SUPREME!!!!!!!! I hate it but I kind of love it (figure skating has broken me), Dvorak is Czech so it makes sense but couldn't they have changed up the music a little bit?
  • The DJ is also on a trip and is mixing music in ways that are absolutely going to summon Dvorak, Rinky, and Alois Lutz/Loop/Salchow/ToeLoop/Flip/Axel out of their graves.

In terms of possibility? I think both will be difficult since my tesoro doesn't have a quad and Hyungyeom is not favored by the judges, I don't even know which is harder to achieve now. If however your 'better' means 'good for our skaters', I seriously cannot say whether Minkyu getting to go to WC during his first senior season would be better than our senior girls having a bit of a better chance on going to WC

no in terms of needs :) I think two spots for men may be harder than three for women but both will be hard.
better was for Junhwan and Hyungyeom to be able to compete again next year with two spots. One spot is tough and it's really hard to get two when down to 1. (though, for Junhwan, should be simple enough to get top 10)

The ISU has updated their graphics on-screen and I really like them. They've added a 6-minute warmup countdown on screen, which is amazing, and they briefly list the planned program content of each skater before they take to the ice. They also have added a tiny little yellow bar under an element which is under review, which has been a very helpful addition and a great way to show the GOE and review status. I hope they keep this package for next season, because I've been enjoying it a lot so far (although anything is better than the Olympic tech box that didn't list the elements, just the BV )
