Not at all happy with the way this event is organised. Not enough time allowed to get everyone in, ridiculous security rules, drone on the ice at the end of each programme, stupid Interviews in kiss and cry, shrieking hosts ...

Never had this nonsense at worlds before.

The interviewers are annoying, but that's the ISU for you. Notice the one language no-one is allowed to speak in. The drone I'm surprised anyone can notice, it's like an insect buzzing around something you have to be looking for to notice.

The problem with entering are the people who try to take their big bags in without reading the clearly stated rules, security was pretty lax all three days they couldn't even be bothered checking the inside of my satchel bag, I brought my own food in yesterday they really don't care they are just doing the absolute minimum, but if you have a big bag they have no choice but to stop you.

Well organised event, everyone polite, crowd supportive of everyone, maybe Prague needs to be hosting worlds more regularly.

I’m curious to see what mindset Hase/Volodin will bring to the finale of their season with their free skate, which has been controversial from the start. I find their hard work in striving to present exciting, experimental figure skating—combined with Minerva’s years of elegant presence—truly fascinating.

With a sense of fun, as they announce their performance in the run-up? The two of them? One has to doubt it. We remember the Grand Prix Final: the best free skate of their lives, the best free skate in years by any pair at all. What was the secret? Certainly not a relaxed ease—that was evident when they shook hands. What was going on inside them? Anger over the botched short program, knowing that their nerves simply had to hold up just this once, just one time, to fully realize their skating abilities? (I’ll leave out mundane things like a maximum bonus.)

The cheerful Minerva, the always friendly pair, has no place in this free skate; 200% concentration and a—how shall I put it—sacred seriousness created an unforgettable masterpiece. Can they repeat that free skate today and successfully bring both pieces of the puzzle together for the first time? It would be a celebration; the audience in Prague and elsewhere expects nothing less than a repeat of Nagoya—perhaps even a little bit more... (It may sound unbelievable, but the couple’s funding is hanging in the balance; the entire country is hanging in the balance; options are already being discussed...)

No, the problem is not opening the doors early enough, and insufficient entry doors for the number of people the arena holds.

I arrived maybe 11:20am for the women's yesterday and there were huge queues but I was still though in 10 minutes. Probably 90 seconds were wasted by the woman in front of me needing to be told she needs too take her bag to the cloak room which unnecessary held the crowd up.

That was by no means the case this morning. It was an absolute shambles. Took me 40 minutes in the cold.

We were there only in the afternoon, the issue was that all people were lining up at entrance 4/5 closest to the metro station and those lines were not moving at all, once we switched to entrance 7 just tenths meter away we were in in 5 minutes.

My guess is that maybe his 3Axel or combo jumps were not consistent and he didn't want to finish on a bad note - for himself as well as his country. Jacob and Andrew will hopefully finish strong and, with the brilliant Malinin, keep 3 spots for the US.

You make good points, but Jason has since posted, and although vague, it appears as though the decision may be related to his deliberations, as to whether to continue in skating and how to do so. He did this in 2018 when he was making a decision as to whether to continue, he withdrew from Worlds order to put himself into a “clean” headspace.

Still, I miss him!

Anyone else confused by the pairs predictions scoring?

I have to summarize the past 2 days...

So for starters, I am working at the ice rink with the photographers, super close to the action.

I am loving this job, because I am on the same hight as the skaters and can experience all the emotions in the closest way possible.

Isabeau was magical today, so was Nina and of course Mone and Kaori, who I had to carry some toys for.

I feel so honored to have been at her last competition. She is so nice, we also took a picture. Talking about pictures, when I had some time off, I met the ice dancers and took some with them, but also traded pins with Amber and got a few photos signed.

It's just so nice of all of them, first the work and then the party if you know what I mean.

And just so you know, everything you throw on the ice goes to the skaters, Kaori alone had like 10 bags with stuff from the fans.

And don't curse the volunteers for not throwing toys on the ice if they land next to our feet, because we r not allowed to. But dont you worry it all goes into the bags later and skaters will come and get them.

I have to say that Amber has a heart of gold, I wish for everyone of you that you meet her in person someday, because she has the biggest heart in the world and just makes you happy, even if her day wasn't the best.

She must have gotten a million pins by now, but makes you feel like yours is special to her and somehow I believe it may even be so.

Ofc I couldn't resist to say hello to our Olympic champions in ice dance, but more about that to some other time.

I already know the first names for the Exhibition too, I have to ask if I can publish them, if so, I will let you know

And last but not least Robert and Annika were absolutely amazing in pairs, what energy!

Once the event is finished, I will write some summary of all what happened to me, but now I need to 😴 because in total I may have slept 10 hours in the last three days.

People are just always so nice to me and remember my name even years later and do so much for me, why I don't know, I am just a normal person!

mine is fine and I think yours is fine too.. I just looked quickly. I think you lost a lot of points on the Hungarians because you put them in 2nd and since they ended up in 5th, that's 0 points.

I just watched the "interview" Ashley Wagner did with Kaori and I wish she had a Japanese to English interpreter, the "interview" didn't seem well thought out at all. I'm sure Kaori was saying more than that she was happy and thankful after the last competitive skate and win of her career. On a shallower note, I love the Prague mascot Eda the hedgehog. Now Kaori has a complete collection of ISU figure skating competition mascot stuffies :giggle:
