3rd Maria Olszewska Memorial 2025 | Mar 5-9

Just to warn you, the schedule for today has been completely changed since I updated the table in the OP last night.

We are now starting 1h 15m later than previously planned. So 2h from now.

It also means that we are finishing slightly later tonight than previously planned. But only by about 10 mintues.

I've just updated the table again. :rolleye:

Wow!! So many medals won by Canada at this event.

I really wanted to watch Hannah’s free skate. I’m shocked she beat the 12th best junior lady skater from USA.

So, I think it is 3/3 gold 🥇
2/3 silver🥈

Too bad I can’t rewatch. I would have liked to rewatched calmly tonight. Oh well.

🌳 Acer enthusiasts might want to take a look at this page to see some fine examples of 🍁 maple leaves growing in 🇵🇱 Poland... ;)

I won't make it to watch junior women but when you do, take a closer look at Zofia Bochenek. She is really promissing.

Thank you for the tip. She's the last to skate before the third resurfacing, so it'll be a while until we see her.

Unfortunately, the skater I was planning to support in this competition withdrew before the draw.

And we are live! Looking at three empty chairs!

Ooops. I forgot the boys were on first, and had the girls livescoring page open. :slink:

Well, it turns out that Anna is the only Ruis sibling in action this week. Daniel has withdrawn. So we are down to just 3 Junior cacti.

I forgot to say, today consists of a Junior Singles SP double-bill; followed by a Senior Singles SP double-bill; followed by a Pairs FS double-bill; followed by all the Adult competitions.

So, just the two Entries / Results pages in action today - the "ISU" one, and the "Adult" one.

Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the music that Edoardo Luigi PROFAIZER (ITA) was skating to.

I hope more people pick up on it.

He goes into 2nd position. Less than a point behind his compatriot, Nikita DOSSENA.

Now for Dorota and Mariusz's boy.

Thank you Ryszard! I love "Palladio" programmes!!!

I enjoyed that.

Daddy looks very happy. Ryszard look miserable!

It's funny how he looks exactly like his mom :) I've been following him for some time, he will be a decent skater.

I prepared myself, and had a picture of Dorota open for comparison. And I see what you mean. Ryszard is the absolute image of her!

He goes into the lead.

Well, the withdrawal of Daniel RUIS (AUT) from the boys meant that we had a gap between the girls and the boys. But, here are the trumpets. 🎺

It was so funny. The song that was being played finished, and then we heard Rihanna saying "Please don't stop the music". And no sooner had she got the words out, then the music stopped for the trumpets!

They must have kept it playing on mute during the introductions, because when we returned to Rihanna at the start of the Warm-Up, we were in the last third of the song.

Is this the second competition in a row where the first skater has withdrawn? Or are they having problems with the music?

It's the former. Skater #1 Giulia BELLINO (ITA) has withdrawn. We start with Skater #2, Sara ZOFREA BRAVO (PER).

You all know I have a soft spot for small Fed skaters. And I love Middle Eastern music.

So, it will come as no surprise that I loved that programme from Sara ZOFREA BRAVO (PER).

For those that are confused, she wasn't skating to "Ain't It Funny" by Jennifer Lopez like her ISU Bio says. She was skating to "Princess Of Persia" by Darvishi.

She looks very lonely sitting there all on her own. 😞

I find skaters from non-skating countries very brave. She was quite happy with the score.

And on the subject of small Fed skaters...

I loved Eva SUŽNJEVIĆ (BIH)'s outfit! Very 1920's.

Two Bosnian skaters in two days!

She goes into 3rd position.

I FOUND WALLY!!!!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

Although, to be fair, Weronika FERLIN (POL) was wearing a red skirt rather than blue trousers.

Joking aside, she was really good.

I take it she is a Lipnitskaya fan, as she is skating to the same music and wearing the same costume that Julia did for her SP in the 2014-15 Season.

Julia Lipnitskaya - 2014 Cup Of China SP

Weronika goes into a massive lead.

Poor Anna ZIELINSKA (POL)

Things just did not go her way.

3 points in deductions, and into a rather distant 14th and last position. About 9 points behind the girl directly ahead of her.

After the scores were announced, her coach handed Anna the box of hankies, thinking she was going to cry. But, she kept herself composed.

:ghug:

This may be the second season that Carlota GARCIA BARRANCO (ESP) has been using this programme, but I'm not complaining. I love Shakira at the best of times, but I particularly love those songs where she lets her Lebanese heritage come through in her music. And this song, "Ojos Así", is one of them.

I enjoyed that programme. As I do every time I see it.

Awww. Carlota was hiding behind her hands when the scores were being announced.

Come on! You weren't that bad!

She goes into 11th position.

Vivi NURMI (FIN) was another skater doing a Middle Eastern programme.

My problem with Vivi was what she was wearing. It was one of those dresses that blend in too well with the ice. Mind you, when you saw it closer up in the results area, you realise that it is actually a lot nicer than you initially thought. It's a very pale blue with gold trim.

She goes into 9th position.

It's getting to be a very close competition in the mid-field. Lots of skaters tight together, with lots of potential for movement in the FS.

Zofia BOCHENEK (POL) was wearing a black dress with lots of sparklies, and black tights.

If I am totally honest, I wasn't fussed on her music.

I won't make it to watch junior women but when you do, take a closer look at Zofia Bochenek. She is really promissing.

I see what you mean. I was very impressed!

It's just a pity about the fall. Because she was otherwise very good.

Eh? She didn't get any deductions. But I could have sworn that she fell. Maybe the mistake didn't quite make the criteria to be classed as a fall.

She goes into 13th position.

A pretty girl wearing a beautiful purple tassle dress skating to Santana.

What more could you want to accompany you eating your dinner?

I really enjoyed that programme from Olga PATEK (POL)

Oh, she is so bubbly in the reults area with her coaches.

She goes into 19th position.

And she is absolutely delighted!

CaroLiza_fan

Unfortunate about the pops but still a lovely skate from Agne. It always hurts to see junior skaters upset with themselves after a skate.
