People have an intense interest in the resolution of this situation, and strong feelings about the fortunes and careers of their faves. It's all good. Where would figure skating be without such dedicated fans.
Plus, I have to say the same thing 1000 times because the first 999, I couldn't convince anyone of the wonderfulness of my point of view.

I have just finished my way through this monster of a thread.
I do have some sympathy with the feeling that nothing is truly 'fair' unless they had the opportunity to skate their frees (believe me this is the case to some extent for the top scoring too: it is sad that Shoma, for example, didn't get a chance to skate his free and defend his position to win his first ever GP). However, at the same time, without that possibility it seems, I can understand the need to use the SPs.
However, it is rubbing me up the wrong way a little to keep seeing Shoma for example referenced as 'bombing' his SP and coming back in the free at SA. If we take Max as a reference point, at SA Shoma was lying in 4th and 5.89 marks off the lead. At TEB, Max was lying in 7th and 16.65 marks off the lead and 9.32 marks off 3rd. So, whilst, yes, Max could have come back to a medal position etc, etc, I wouldn't say that their positions were directly comparable.

This is what I would do: Just add more people to the finale. Anyone at TEB who medaled at another event should just be added to the GPF. Fans get to see extra performances, Max gets a break, Patrick will win anyway Gracie will get her 3rd or 4th place medal like she always does, everyone is happy. The worst that could happen is that someone who is not at the level of the others comes in 7th or 8th. Not the end of the world.

Is there any official announcement?And if not are they going to decide till Christmas?? Because I'm pretty sure I didn't see nothing official on ISU page.

The ISU will have to post the Rostelecom results on these pages shortly, right? It will be interesting to see whether they update the Bompard column at the same time.

And for the record:
Javi's ISU bio already has been updated to show that he placed first at 2015 Rostelecom -- which ended barely a few hours ago.
Meanwhile, Shoma's ISU bio still shows no placement for 2015 TEB.
It would take very little time for the ISU to update the bios of all the TEB skaters with placements according to the SP results -- if the ISU wanted to do so.
Clearly the ISU deliberately is holding back from doing so.
The "other fish to fry" argument (posted by someone earlier in the thread -- but it was not you, MM) is nonsense, given that the ISU bios already are showing Rostelecom placements.

Furthermore:
It is notable that the GP point standings used to be on the ISU site as HTML pages -- as opposed to PDFs.
But after TEB, the ISU took down the HTML pages -- and posted the PDFs.
I have a feeling that one of the reasons for the new PDF format was to make it possible to manually update the charts with GP points from Rostelecom -- without showing any GP points for TEB.
ETA, to be more precise:
On its GP index page, the ISU has replaced the HTML links with PDF links.

To me, in this situation, it is out of the question. What's unfair about the situation is that some skaters took a blow from cruel fate beyond the figure skating world. There is nothing the figure skating establishment can do that will restore fairness and balance.
We can, however, try to give a break to the skaters who were disadvantaged through no fault of their own --wrong place, wrong time. For instance by awarding some extra (unearned) spots. (The devil is in the details, of course.)

Liza with a fifth place at TEB SP and a second place in Canada.
How do you differentiate between them? How will ISU apply the tie breaker between them?

With Jason Brown withdrawing from NHK and Adam Rippon not pulling a miracle at Rostelecon, Chan is home free no matter what, right? The ISU may hope that after next week they can just say, "the following skaters are in the final," and give no further rationale.
(The "don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing" management model.
