Oh and I was happy to see no tears today. Hopefully she realized that making a couple mistakes is no big deal, she’s still the best.

She naturally has dark circles around her eyes. Not disputing she's sick because from what I've read from people who attended practice she's actually pretty sick and they were seriously concerned with whether she would be able to skate or not, but the dark circles around her eyes are not part of that. That's just her genetics. She's just been wearing a lot less makeup this weekend than she usually does which makes it more noticeable.
 
Usually Ted Barton interviews the winner after the competition. If there is one with Alena today, would somebody post the link to the video please? Thank you.

She has two months now, she will be fine :)

What did those people say she has? How did they notice she's sick? Honestly, if it's "just" that, it's okay. Everyone gets sick sometimes and better here than at the JGPF or Nationals. She still won so everything's fine. If she isn't injured, she can just let her mom tuck her in bed, get some good rest, a cup of tea and relax a bit. That works wonders. :)

They didn't say what she had. They just said that she said a few times to different people that she felt very sick and even off the ice she was lethargic and pale and not her usual self and then on the ice her stamina was severely decreased from what it usually was.
 
Congrats Alena! She was the best. The way she skated to each note of the music stood out way above the rest of the field. Well deserved Gold [emoji966]!

Same. But it's still very remarkable that she managed to win despite being ill. This really shows some determination and skill to skate two wonderful programs with only two mistakes while not being physically fit at all. Now, I hope for her to recover and get some well-deserved rest. She doesn't need to push herself now, she can get a few days in bed before starting to seriously train again. Final is only in December, she has lots of time. Health is the most important! If it's just a cold, she'll recover soon enough, that's not a "serious" illness. But it can become one if you don't rest but instead push your body further and further. Here, it was necessary to secure her spot in the final but now... go to sleep, Alyona! You still have lots of time to train!

I still don’t love the Free Skate but she is so amazing anything looks good with her.
I wonder what’s up with her leg... I hope is nothing! I want to see her healthy in the Final with her beautiful performances. [emoji24]

I hope she is fine. I saw that she looked like her hand hurt already after the skate.

Junior who just participated at any JGP is automatically in Junior RusNats.
Junior who was able to reach JGPF is automatically in Senior RusNats. (if she/he 14 y.o.)
