About the same age, yes. I'm 17 but I look way younger on this photo.

I asked her for a photo and I think she was a bit surprised because nobody seemed to have approached her yet? Which was kind of surprising since she was literally sitting at the side of the rink where all the spectators could see her and there were lots of Russian fans there. :think: But she was really nice and friendly when I asked her and didn't hesitate at all. I thanked her and said that she was very, very good today and then I left because I didn't want to bother her any longer after having just skated her SP.

I thought Alena was as brilliant as always. I’m always mesmerized by her skating skills and beautiful performance!

Alas, I am not a fan of this program. I find it a bit dull and I think it doesn’t allow her to shine as much as she’s able to - I still enjoy watching her perform it though!

I personally would use Zagi or Med or Lena Radi or other abbreviation of this kind as a form of fondness and warmth.

She is so expressive and graceful. She feels her "character" in her piece and masters her choreography. Her footwork is fleeting. She embraced the "angelic" nature of the theme. This Juniors prix season is an impressive one. Guys, whenever I feel that one is my favorite another one jumps ahead with a performance highlighting her strengths. Look forward to seeing Alena's Freeskate!

The Eteri Triumvirate is just amazing. I like all three almost equally! I think if I'm a betting man I'd go with Kosto for the long haul. She is so solid in every area. Can't wait for tomorrow, and I am so impressed by Kany also, for just being 13. Poor Med, I think she lost her chance at Olympic gold. There are just too many better skaters coming up. At least Zag won her Olympic Gold in the nick of time. Go Alena(s)!!!

They do, but this is very rare case. Alёna and Alёnushka are much more common.

Alёnka is derivative name that is OK for close friends and relatives but not for others.

I think alot of people try to distinguish her from Alina Z because their names sounds the same. And it confuses some people.

Just watched her SP- I had serious doubt about it knowing it was a recycled version of Medvedeva's last season FS that was scratched after a couple of competitions- but... She nailed it! The music cuts are not that terrible, less over drama than expected, thank God!
Loved her dress, her strong personality shining through, her skating, she glides with such a speed! And that 2A... you could see she's ready to rotate one more time in the air- so much space, such a latitude. Amazing! She's a breathtaking skater, absolute joy to watch. Good luck with FS!
