Alena Kostornaia

It seems they do not want to add the 3A until it's perfect or consistent most of the time.

She was amazing at this event and I do believe she has highest potential out of the 3A.

I have a feeling that if we get lots of ladies splatting on quads or barely landing them, because of trend Sasha started, there will be another rule change to penalize bad elements more and reward cleanness (followed by whining and moaning). So Alena's approach to go for clean and beautiful programs may serve her the best.

Well, Alyona, Sasha and Anna were today like "so you think we will be scared off by some two 3As? Watch this!" :yahoo:

I just watched Alena's SP from CoR and WOOOOOOOW!!!! How did she get to be so amazing at such a young age??? I think she's one of those skaters who were just born to skate, she was born to do this sport. Everything is so perfect, it's unbelievable! Such a beautiful program, performed wonderfully. That move she does in the end, with the wings sound, that would be so cheesy and so ugly with any other skater! But when she does it just touches your heart. :sad4:
I wish her all the best in the future competitions! She's just a complete package, beautiful, beautiful!!!!! :luv17:

She has the potential to become the best female figure skater of all time..she just needs 3As and the consistency to land them to be crowned world champion and olympic champion in the future.

I agree. I think her experience at Ostrava woke something new up in her. Before she was saying how she wasn't particularly passionate about skating and didn't even really enjoy it until she was 10 or 11 and started winning competitions and Daniil was saying that because she was such an incredibly talented natural skater and everything came so easy to her that she could be lazy and often didn't give 100 percent. But today for perhaps the first time I saw passion. She's always had a passion for competition and winning and that's what's been driving her but I think for the first time here we witnessed her passion for the actual skating itself and it was beautiful.

They are ready to tackle seniors next season :)

I can’t wait to hear commentators talk about Alena, I’m sure they’ll be mesmerized by her beautiful skating like we are. I mean, Ted already is!

I was just thinking the same thing after hearing British Eurosport commentate Eunsoo Lim's debut. They're going to fall in love with Alena.

Throw back to CBC commentary at junior worlds because I think it's a good sneak peak of what's to come in that respect once you get past the initial Sasha vs Alena fight they tried to push.

Who isn't going to fall in love with Alena??? :luv17:

I think she is going to be a big hit off the ice as well once she gets to senior level. She has the personality needed to build a personal brand and what an interesting brand it will be - so graceful and precise on ice, so frank and unapologetically ironic off the ice with a slightly mischievous undertone. Two very different sides of the same coin. Then to top it all off she has such a beautifully unique and expressive face. Sponsors are going to absolutely love her.

Today I've shown my boyfriend both Alena's performances from CoR and told him: Look closely, because a skater like this is born once every 10 years maybe. He was mesmerized by what he saw, even if he's not really a FS fan.

Alena was amazing, I loved her performances and she skated like she was reborn after the last JGP stage. Great job, and whatever happens on the junior circuit I hope she'll keep her motivation because she can be the leader of the FS world one day.:luv17:

Good God put a little pressure on Alena. :eeking:

She will be the most beautiful without a doubt. Hoping all her dreams come true.

Good poinr. Alena skates beautifully and she looks beautiful too she is certainly pretty enough to be the face of a cosmetics company someday.

I saw in the Russian ladies thread someone posted there is a rumor she is leaving Eteri? Has anyone heard anything about this? I really hope not especially after she just showed her full potential this weekend and looked satisfied with her performances. It makes me nervous!
