The second post here says that Alena is wearing Chorus boots. I have absolutely no knowledge about boots but in the comments it‘s said that they apparently are only recommended for doubles ?? I know that most skaters who use Edea skates have Piano or Ice Fly so it‘s a bit surprising that she is the only one with different boots... Can anyone shed light on the situation? Maybe someone with more knowledge on boots other than I have, which is basically „rent some skates and go stumble joyfully on the ice like a drunk penguin.“

It just means she prefers less stiffer boots than the average elite skater that's all. Edea recommends chorus for skaters who are looking to add doubles because of its rigidity. People doing triples and quads tend to like stiffer boots, and people doing easier stuff tend to like softer. And chorus is in between. The recommendation is only a guideline/suggestion, not a rule. You pick whatever is most comfortable. Perhaps the extra flexibility of the Chorus is what allows her to do those amazing SS.

i'm not familiar with edea boots at all, but i hope her wearing boots with less support for the jumps she's doing (and will do...3A) doesn't cause an injury.

Judging by Alena's appearance, the video is quite old.
It was filmed at the beginning of November. There were a few documentary filmed by Japanise tv one about Alina and another about Anna and Sasha. This clip from one of these videos.

I'm sure I missed a few things, but the Russian commentators here say that Alena has big jumps, great speed, and skates with beauty and class. They also talk about the battle between her and Trusova and that they think that it will continue into Russian Nationals.

Thank you! I can’t wait for all commentators to fall in love with her next season as well.

She's just a wonder and has easily become one of the few favourite skaters of mine. I'm really glad that I found out about it while she's still so young since this way I get to enjoy many years with her ^^

wow and i was so Convinced that she was in concertos this whole time (just looked up so many pictures of her and yep, her chorus boots don't have those white-centered antishock soles that concertos have)
