Alena Kostornaia

Probably, she is perhaps still growing slowly and advancing in skating more rapidly, so she'll need new boots and blades every once in a while. Edea has a very fine ambassador in Alyona Kostornaya, that's for sure. She is the hallmark of artistry in figure skating.

Do different brands of blades really matter in small skaters of about 40 kgs body weight when the dimensions and hardness, tensility of the steel runners are the same?

I hope she gets used to her new boots quickly! :yes: The Pianos are going to be a lot stiffer than her old boots, so hopefully that doesn't affect her too much... I wonder if she had that wrap around her ankle at Jr Nationals because her old boots were too soft..

I was wondering about the thick ankle wrap she was wearing and broken down boots could be the cause. She still has about a month until Junior Worlds so she should be ok breaking in the boots in time. I just hope she’s not doing the cup final because that might be too much too soon in new boots.

Maybe this company made her take down her most recent IG post? If they are sponsoring her and she posted the photo before them, they might have wanted her to remove it until after they posted themselves? I hope she didn’t get in any trouble and will be able to repost the chique sport picture.

And it seems that Miki Ando is also a fan...? Apparently Miyabi Oba did a live video, and someone asked her who she likes among Trusova/Scherbakova/Kostornaia. I don't know what she answered, but Miki Ando wrote "Kostornaya." :biggrin:

I'm sooo happy about her new Piano's!! With her training 3A and doing all those 3-3 in boots that were more suited to anything up to double jumps I always worried for the stress it puts on her body...

Russian Cup Final - I would love to see her defend her title! It won't matter much if she competes and loses here, but if they rather prepare for jrWorlds I'm also excited. So far Team Eteri's decicions have been spot on for Alena (I was worried after her 2nd jgp)
 
Based on Daniil's latest Instagram story, it looks like our Alena is getting a new EX program. Looks to be something fierce and impish to suit her mischievous personality. Please let it not be vampire related :pray:

One would suppose Kostornaya herself has a big say in the choice of her EX program, she seems like an obedient person when needed in her sport, but not one that likes to be dominated and bright, determined and experienced enough to make her own decisions.
So her choice of music and character would be interesting and perhaps give some insight into her personality. I've read Alyona already does most of the small choreo details herself, they come natural to her, those shoulder movements, hand extensions and embellishments with her head.

Alyona's 'Dos Cadenzias sobre Adios Nonino' will never grow old on me, but I can relate to Alyona wanting a new and fresh exhibition routine. No doubt it will be wonderful, graceful and another work of art.
 
Twilight bad, oh yes, but... If I should be biten by a vampire in the future, it MUST be Alyona :biggrin:
 
So excited for her new EX. Her murder face is so good. I wonder what song she will use from twilight I couldn’t tell the song from the video.
