Alena Kostornaia

isn't your heart broken yet? then I come https://www.instagram.com/p/BzVOKShIpGe/

Yes, she's definitely a heartbreaker! :drama: And well on her way to becoming a real fatal beauty!

So glad to see that Alena is recovering nicely. Her jumps seem much more secure and confident than at the show in April and it looked like she was skating with a lot of speed out there.

Yes, many of the people on Japanese Twitter talked about how fast she skates. And it seems like she maybe was a little off (and fell) on the first day because the rink is tiny, and she skates soo fast. She probably ran out of room!

On Japanese Twitter, a lot of fans mentioned that they were surprised that Alёna is so small. And of course, many of them talked about how pretty she is.

There are many photos of Alёna looking adorable in a yukata (Japanese summer kimono). Like here with Rika:

Looks like Alёna's mom went with her to Japan. She seems to be holding on to Sasha here, but I'm pretty sure that's Alёna's mom:

And of course, our little devil had to be standing in the front all by herself, right?

Some translations:

The lady who's giving the introductions says that Alёna is the 2018 World junior medalist.
Then the guy says that she's the winner of last season's Jr GPF. "15-year old Alёna Kostornaya from Russia. This season's exhibition, from the movie 'Twilight.'"

Around 1:50, when she does the 3S, the lady says "She has flow [coming out of the jump], and the landing is really pretty/clean."
When she does the 3F, the lady says "From the moment she left the ice until she started rotating, she really flew up. There's really a lot of space [i.e., she has plenty of time to rotate.]"

After she's done, the guy says something like, "Kostornaia is only 15 years old, but she has this ability to create another world and pull you in. This season she will make her senior debut."
The lady says "Jumps, spins--there is a high level of perfection, of course--but there is also the smoothness/elegance of her skating and the sense of speed. The transitions don't seem disconnected; just everything comes together beautifully and smoothly. And the way she creates positions is just wonderful."

I think the female commentator is Junko Yaginuma (just judging by her voice), and it sounds like she's a fan! :agree:

Thank you for the translation! So glad the Japanese commentators were appreciative of Alena’s qualities. I was following along with Japanese twitter this weekend and almost all mentioned her beauty and small size. Another thing they commented on was her strong back (good posture) and of course her speed. I’m so glad she was given the opportunity to perform in Japan as a lot of the press has been focused on the quad girls only. Hopefully this makes them take notice of her as well.

Yeah, I'm also pretty sure it's her mom.. ;)

I also think that her EX makeup was a lot better than last time.. ;)

Oh yes, that’s her mom, who is somehow even shorter than Alena 🤣

Anna and Alena had their hair and makeup done by Kose for the show and I think the professionals did a good job for both girls

It looks like the 4A's are going to be on some Japanese sports variety show, so today they were dressed in yukata again:

The light blue yukata that Aliona was wearing at the DOI party was pretty, but I think this gold one suits her better. :luv17: She needs bold colors to complement her bright personality!

Also, the other thing that Japanese fans have been talking about on Twitter is that Aliona now has a Colantotte necklace. You can see it in the second pic here:
Aliona at the magic show, with the bird too:

See the company page (it's a Japanese company):

But mainly they're intrigued because Shoma has had one for a long time! See here:

Maybe she saw Shoma's and wanted one? Or maybe a Japanese fan gave it to her?
Anyhow, it's cool she has one now.

Oh, and they've also been laughing about the fact that Aliona often seems to be the only person in a group photo who is not looking at the camera (see, for example, that first pic from the magic show).

She probably got hers from Shoma.
Several skaters from Eteri group has been wearing Colantotte necklaces since Shoma arrived. Trusova had one in Japan too, it was just different model.

what creations do you think olga will dream up for her dresses? what colors do you see? can't wait until she starts sharing them on instagram

I don’t know but I really hope she gets a new dress for her vampire SP. The one she has now with the cape and the pants is fine for a show, but would love to see her in something more mature and sophisticated for competition (obviously there won’t be a cape to throw as this is not allowed).

For the FS, I have no idea! I would need to hear how the music is cut before I could come up with an image in my mind. Of course since Olga is making it I’m sure it will be gorgeous

I think she’ll wear white for the FS. The photo she posted on Instagram was of a girl in a long white dress with pearls around her neck, so maybe

i don't see her keeping the same dress for the short especially since it's still a show program.

Someone recently uploaded Alena’s GPF performances with Korean commentary translated to English. Of course the commentators were very positive about her skating 😀

Thank you for posting these! Very interesting!

Yes, many commentators love Aliona! :luv17:

I'm not sure if this was posted earlier, but one of the Italian Eurosport commentators is also a fan. See around 13:00 here (turn on the English subtitles):

He talks about how Aliona is the "complete package" with "extraordinary elegance" and how she's being "penalized" by the current judging system because the PCS factoring is not as high as the men's.

Oh, and Elena Radionova also mentioned how she likes Aliona again in a recent interview:
We have three very strong juniors: Sasha Trusova, Anna Scherbakova, Alena Kostornaia. I wonder what shape Alena has now, because she missed the junior worlds. As a figure skater she impresses me a lot.
:agree:
https://fs-gossips.com/elena-radion...art-hating-you-even-for-some-innocent-phrase/

I'm just hoping that the judges love Aliona as much as we and the commentators do!
Give her all the points!!

Ambesi has also added lately that the men's factoring is low, talking about the Hanyu vs Chen rivalry. Still, the difference would be negligible, as it was on the 2019 Worlds, as the question is how that scored is assigned.

We are yet to see Alena's PCS rise at least to 37-75. Let's hope she don't have to wait too much for that.

Back to Ambesi, i remember some lovely comments about Alena already on the olympic season, while he was doing commentary on Eurosport for senior competitions.

She seems to have deleted her Instagram post about her LP so I wonder what’s going on...maybe it wasn’t working out and they decided to change it? I was looking forward to the LP music
