So I totally thought that for once, the Ladies event at Russian Nationals would be at a decent time for me...But I forgot that Krasnoyarsk is 4 hours ahead of Moscow, which means that the Ladies event is during the middle of the night for me, as usual...

Usually I don't bother to watch live, but I think I might get up to see Aliona! :yes:

I hope she can just go out there and do exactly what she did at NHK and GPF--put out a clean and effortless SP! :yes:

I was hoping for 90+, but 89.86 is good enough. :agree: That's higher than any of the men scored in their SP!! Without any PCS adjustment!

You're back! And I agree with your assessment and it was a bold assessment Max. Alena has some kind of magic. She has innate skill for figure skating that is very very rare. Especially these days.

all 9's in PCS and one even gave her a 10 for interpretation!! AND everything was almost all 4's & 5's, only 4 3's across everything from all judges!

Figure skater Alena Kostornaya after skating her short program at the Russian Championships appreciated her performance. She scored record points - 89.86.

“I am pleased,” I heard these words for the first time from Eteri Georgievna. Praise. There was no excitement, I try not to wind myself up. If I jumped something five times in training, why should I do it wrong the sixth? I like full stands, the more people, the better.

The victory at the Grand Prix finals gave me neither confidence nor responsibility. This is just a beautiful medal in my collection.

Oh, Aliona! The internet is an excellent rumour mill, mostly courtesy of broken telephone.

Also, thank you, Macy, for posting the detailed results. It's amazing to see the massive GOE on her 3A, which is so well deserved - she really made that look easy today, and her falling leaf afterwards is a thing of beauty. I'm just waiting to see if the individual skates will be uploaded, so I can watch this performance over and over again. Honestly, she was breath-taking throughout, and when she finished with enough time to get those wingbeats perfectly to the sound effects ... I was squeeing with joy at that point. May she have a fabulous skate again tomorrow!

Aliona delivered again, that performance was so elegant. Even Ted couldn’t believe it. I loved hearing his reaction after her skate. That axel was so controlled compared to some of the ones she jumped earlier in the season. I think that she has a tighter air position than before. I thought that it was cute in the kiss and cry when Eteri put the stuffed animal up to Aliona’s face. I also liked seeing Alena and Daniil’s reactions to the scores.

I know! He was lost for words for a moment, which is an entirely understandable reaction, because I was so full of excitement and joy that I couldn't have spoken if I'd had to. And yes, that moment with the little rabbit on Aliona's shoulder made me laugh out loud.
