I know they were seen with Aljona at Glacier Ice Arena a few times, but I don't know if they are training there any more. Pretty sure they are at a different rink. Haven't heard anything about their programs. In the meantime, sure looks like Aljona is enjoying Chicago! Looks like these were posted a few days ago.

I just watched their free skate (I haven't seen their short - my fs viewing lately has been… erratic;)), and in spite of the mistakes, I just wanted to say that I absolutely loved it. If skated clean… I think this could be one of my favourite programs of the season.

Wishing them all the best. The jumps were shaky, but I hope they can keep progressing under Aljona's guidance. I loved their positivity in the Kiss and Cry. They are fighters, and I know they'll work extra hard for the next three weeks to prepare for Skate America. Can't wait to see them there.

I've just updated their OP. I have been postponing this day by day because a lot of information was lacking (I was surprised to realize it was last updated in June 2016) and I wanted to reorder it according to the format I use for updating the pairs fan fest. Finally I decided to it today. I am quite exhausted, so I hope you'll enjoy finding all the program info, videos and detailed results in one place.
I will still try to include the recent articles and (video) interviews, but for now I want to rest :)
Have a nice day or evening or night (wherever you are) :)

Love their SP ... the lift was magnificent!! Alexa's costume is a bit toned down from the first outing..
I like it better but hope they don't change anything else about it... she joked it was "subtle"..LOL!! can see changes in their delivery probably due to their coach. Was not a perfect skate but they are in much better form. I hope the coaching situation continues.. tell Alexa to relax a bit and enjoy !! can't wait for the FS

I just wanted to say that they turned out to be my favourites currently. They have the it-factor with this new look on them and they are selling it amazingly. The crowd's reaction from the very beginning said it all - people love them (not only because it's a home crowd). It's too bad for the mistakes, they should really work hard on solving those issues and shouldn't let such small stumbles get on their way to the podium. I think if they are clean, they could easily overthrone the Russians who are just terrible right now despite their scores...:rolleye:

The choreography is one of a kind - I definitely recognise Savchenko's touch there but at the same time this is Knierims' very own program and they perform it well although it's so early in the season. There's no skating from side to side between the elements, every second there's some subtle movement and complement of the music. I am rooting for them! :yahoo:

They finished 4th. Very costly mistakes didn't let them move up in the ranking.

But the big news is their split with Aljona. They confirmed it yesterday. They hope for a future collaboration, but currently are without a coach.
The truth is it was kind of sad to see them alone in the K&C.

For the worldwide fans of the Knierims it was certainly a "black day" (is that also said in English?), even if the great potential was recognizable again. And of course the serious deficits and the recognizable mental imbalance. Everyone can speculate about the reasons: The time was too short, the expectations too high, the serious changes with Oberstdorf too big to implement this hopeful "idea" - with the "Olympic Champion and World Champion" Savchenko, who is inexperienced as a coach. Anyone who has ever watched Aljona in the training: with her ambition and her joy in experimenting, she can be like a "wolf in sheep's clothing". With Bruno the fairytale progress didn't work out even after a few months, not to forget the role of "Mr. König" and the confirmed team. In these four years Aljona and Bruno did not only stand at the abyss once. May Alexa and Chris hold to Aljona's words: "I have always fight and never given up!"
Even without Aljona (whose competition career on the ice seems to be over), who, first of all, has to redefine herself.
