ISU has added Sasha's points from Finlandia into the international competition column but the total still reflects as 2400 and not 2578 as it should be (if you add up the individual columns, it should be 2578). I hope they fix this error soon ... It appears that only Sasha's total is wrong, the other guys total all reflect the points from Finlandia.

Pretty sure that it is not an error.

From the ISU rules (emphasis added):

Within the preceding two seasons and the current season the following events will be considered for the ISU World Standings order, season’s factors as per C.1. to be considered:

... 2.3.4 International Senior Calendar Competitions: The two best results by points per season; the best four results by points over a period not longer than 2 completed seasons plus the current season; ...

The standings chart shows five internationals for Petrov. But only the best four count.

I don't know whether you can call this good news or not but Mishin's Cup (that Belgorod competition -__-) this year will be held from 20-23 Nov, with the mens SP on 21 Nov. Since Sasha will only be returning to SPB earliest 20 Nov due to CoC, it is highly unlikely he will be sent to Belgorod again. I mean I will be shocked if he is.

I've got some unsettling vibes for CoC. Good or bad I dunno. But my sense is that something is going on. Sorry to sound confusing but this is the best that I can describe it.

If he is physically fit, I really want him to go for the quad (although that decision is really up to his coaches). His programs for whatever reasons are not scoring well in terms of PCS. And no matter how they skate, the other Russian men at CoC will get higher PCS than him. I don't think Sasha has anything to gain by playing safe. However, Mishin may perceive otherwise. But I don't agree with the decision to remove the quad from his layout. The more they keep holding him back on this quad thing, the more it becomes a psychological issue for him. It was (or is) an erroneous calculation.

Mid Nov and still no info about any overseas camp in January 2017.

To be frank I hope there won't be one. Too much traveling during winter weakens the immunity system even further. Not to mention the potential of catching something from other travelers you meet along the way, on the plane, at airports or at hotels. And I also don't subscribe to the philosophy that frequent overseas camps "inspire" skaters to perform better. That is factually unproven.

Golden Spin preliminary entries. It will change. But I think Sasha will definitely go. Podium will be very difficult if 1 of the bigger names doesn't drop out. But top 4 is very doable, if he is clean. HOWEVER, I think he should use this chance to go for the quad.

Sasha will be in practice group 2 for the practice tomorrow. There are 5 other men in that group.

Air pollution is bad today and will be bad until Monday. I hope that if he doesn't have an appropriate mask with him, that he'll stay indoors as much as possible

There's video of Liza, Mishin and Prokofieva walking to the competition venue together this morning for practice but Sasha was nowhere in sight.

Well, practice is about over now for group 2. He should have attended because there's no other session today. Just have to wait for the reports, if any.

Sasha's starting number in the SP is 8, which is a lucky number in Chinese culture.
