It's a pity that the video of Winter 2017 Tarasova's show (TV broadcast) is not any more on youtube There are some fans' videos but not so good...

And I like this video (not very good quality, though) from him practising "Gladiator", 2007 - it's funny how all the other skaters are making room and watching him, expecting to see that program and "big things" but because he could hardly train due to his hip, he kept doing everything "at half throttle".

IMO, "Gladiator" is one of his best programs (but only with the "original" final footwork, not with the one from MITIM as he did e.g. at International Figure Skating Challenge 2002 or Japan Open 2007)

And there used to be a cute and funny video of CNN reporting on Stars On Ice Tour 2005, including Alexei's interview, unluckily, it's gone too

I think I say it for all the mass media, because I can't talk on the phone anymore, and for f*ing babblers in the internet who write all kinds of sh**. I talked to him two days ago. Naturally, words can't tell feelings. For me and for my family Denis is not just a skater from Kazakhstan, we got ties for different reasons. We've been crying all day long, because we really can't believe, that such a thing has happened. I know his parents, I used to spend much time with his mom, when I visited Kazakhstan. It isn't like we lost a skater from Kazakhstan, I've lost a part of myself. Like a grief in my family. I really hope, that those beasts who did it, will bear the whole responsibility for this.

I think you have talked to his parents. Was there a chance, that his life could be saved?

Y: I haven't talked. A man who works in safety in Kazakhstan, phoned me, he is the first who told it me. I know almost every minute of it. This is a tragedy indeed. To hell with those mirrors, cars. One can earn, can save up money. But this is a life of a human being...

What was he like?

Y: You know, people say, that athletes are not smart, and it is true, because they give their lives for the goals they try to reach. Denis was not only an athlete who achieved certain success due to his work, but he also was educated, intelligent and multitalented. Because he wrote music, he was talented for choreography and he had many ideas for the future, we often talked about them. So it's not just a robot that was an athlete and won medals, he was an awesome guy. And today we have lost this guy.

Tarasova:
It is uneasy to talk about such things. I talked with his mom, when he was still alive. Maybe his last minutes.

Was there a chance to save his life?

TAT: I don't know.

What was he like?

TAT: He is an outstanding boy. He was so talented, that he could win any medals. He was very talented and hardworking, he loved his work. What is very rare. That's all.

Yesterday in Almaty, in Kazakhstan, Denis Ten came to a tragic end, the bronze medalist of the Olympics which took place here in Sochi. I guess one could say many words about this athlete, but I guess we have lost a person - first of all. All the figure skaters who knew him, always noted his kindness and sincerity, because he was such a person indeed. We all know fully well, that perfect people don't exist, but he is a bright example which shows one can be almost perfect. A kind, pure-minded skater. And first of all, smart. Many maybe don't care when they send sms messages... I always noticed, that he never had mistakes in his messages, all the commas were in right places. It would seem it is a petty detail, but it shows in some ways what a person Denis was.

I don't think, that Alexei was being coached.
I don't know. (For example, when Yagudin speaks about Lambiel, he says he skated in many shows together with Lambiel.)
